How often are you in-person/office for EY TD/FDD? Is travel to client sites still common? I'm assuming this is very team-dependent.

Deal and team dependent. I know people who go in zero times a week and never travel and those who travel for client meetings.

F

Chicago office at least seems to be around 1-3 times a week, team dependent. Sometimes ppl got assigned to deals in other office and you might barely see them for weeks because they’re wfh most of time or (rarely) travel to the client city or deal’s team office.

In Boston we’re mainly in Tuesday and Thursday but can be deal/manager dependent. Most people seem to just choose one of those days and wfh the other 4 days. Client travel is very rare.

Since I do expect a slow down to occur in the short term, and I've noticed other firms pushing people to audit and other services with need, would it be rude to preemptively reach out to restructuring partners before my firm pushes us to audit? What do you think makes more sense:
a) Stay in audit and get M1 promo this year, and then later try to transfer to FDD at manager level.
b) Move to FDD right now as S3, settle in at more relaxed pace but only hit M1 promo in 2 years.
