Why do quite a lot of people want to go FPA? Isn’t corporate FPA has the same pay, growth, tenure and less opportunities than GL accounting?

People are always talking up a&m on this bowl. Reality is, while FDD there may be great, M&A tax is a dumpster fire. Tons of attrition, tons of boomeranging back to big 4, etc..

EY just released the comp numbers this Friday.. Anyone could share what are the S1 making in FDD (in HCOL) at EY please? Just curious if PwC still offers the most competitive comps among the Big 4

Which firms in Chicago have the strongest FDD practice?

What do you think makes more sense:
a) Stay in audit and get M1 promo this year, and then later try to transfer to FDD at manager level.
b) Move to FDD right now as S3, settle in at more relaxed pace but only hit M1 promo in 2 years.

Imo, given turnover RLs should communicate base comp changes today and bonuses later once available. Stop the turnover pipeline.
