Does anyone know if the same 401k rules apply at EY as Accenture so they will cap the contributions coming for your check say if you hit the yearly limits in August? So if you hit the 22,500 in 23 there is no way to go over for tax issues. Thinking to frontload next year contributions if market is down. EY

75% fail. I don’t remember the actual number but it’s high. That’s why shifting to incremental releases more often with smaller chunks of scope is a better model. You actually end up coming ahead and clients can eventually take it in-house and ‘maintain’ by taking on scope their talent can manage. Also brings more focus on doing the right things.

PwC: Same family my friend. All firms are the same. If I give you my firm’s name, you will dilute my comments so there, I’m not MBB
I’ve been on 3 and for all 3 we’ve met our go-live but not our budget because the time allocated for completion has been miscalculated. We got the work done but had to bring on a number of resources for free and work round the clock.
Oh snap! , did you just call ACN a low cost SI.
Come work for Accenture then. We know how to get it done.
no we dont
Almost never 😂
I’ve been doing Workday ERP implementations for 5 years now. All have gone live on time. None with significant budgetary impacts.

Very rarely is it the fault of the consulting firm supporting. It’s always the client moving things around.

It’s true. Client starts with the wrong vision then it changes because some other LOB executive influences it. Then they take for ever to choose the core vendor. Then the business case comes short. These guys honestly don’t know what the hell they’re doing.
I’ve been on 3 enterprise scale software implementations. 1 failed after about a year. 1 eventually went live about a year and a half behind schedule. And one went live (late) with a set of pilot locations, and has not progressed beyond that in over a year. I work with healthcare and gov clients

Over my career, more than half went live on time. Most of the ones that didn't, were usually due to new/changed requirements and clients who weren't ready. With project budgets, not as high a percentage were on budget since quite often the sales team low balled the resources required, to win the deal.
