Senior manager — quarterly. More direct manager or SC — twice a month. Project partner — halfway through and at the end.

Instead on generic check-ins, ask for coaching on a specific topic. “I’d really like to work on my active listening during interviews; after this meeting can you give me some feedback and pointers?” Lay out the 2-3 things you’re working on at the start of a project, and find tactical ways coaching can observe and help

IMO, the targeted coaching approach comes across as more mature; regular feedback sessions always seem a little bit like grubbing for good grades. If there’s an issue, I’d let you know proactively.

Informally about once a week. No need to schedule a meeting. Usually after client meetings or status updates I’ll check in with my manager and ask for feedback.

You probably don’t need a recurring check in. I have a lot of ad hoc convos with my SM and occasionally every month or two we’ll have a quick chat for 15 mins or so. But it’s really dependent on the SM. Sometimes they’ll want more frequent check ins for newer team members and others may be very hands off

like

Monthly. We call them 30-for-30s. 30 mins every 30 days

Biweekly meeting set up on a recurring basis throughout the project.

I have weekly check-ins with my direct reports and monthly or more frequent (I leave the frequency up to them as to when they want a skip level one, but it's no less than once a month) check-ins with my second levels reports. I also have ad hoc meetings with anyone who wants one.

like

It depends on the leader. I have seen senior managers that like to set a meeting cadence for that and others that do not set any meetings at all and prefer to do it only when needed. Discuss with your leader how often it will be best for both of you.

Every 2 weeks

Who do you directly report to? If you directly report to the SM then you should be checking in formally every few weeks. But I'm guessing you aren't reporting directly to them? I have about 35 People on my project - if I did bi weeklies with every one of them I'd be spending 35 hours a month on check ins alone which would be insane.
