40. Counting 401k, it would be savings. Not including 401k, it would be our charitable giving. - live in Nor Cal - have a paid for home - 3 kids with 1 in FT daycare, two with child support - currently maxing out 401k contributions Included in savings is our sinking funds for P&C insurance, home taxes, holidays and vacations, etc.

Y’all. These posts with rent and mortgage 7 and 8 grand... that makes me curl up in the fetal position and cry a little. I’m 32 and my mortgage at 1100 is my biggest expense and I feel like it’s a lot 🤣🤣🤣 Y’all need to buy a house in the Midwest! Haha. Jk. No you don’t. So...much... corn...

Hence why I never will be buying a house in a Midwest cornfield. Had enough of that growing up in a rural area, don’t ever want any of that mess back.

Mortgage - $25,000/mo

likefunnyuplifting

I think you had the right idea PwC7, it’s just that all that interest doesn’t factor into the actual value of the house, so they are paying closer to your amount than D17 in total, but their house because of that is actually less

If one wants to buy a house in the next 1-2 years, is there a point in investing in pension (above the employer match)? The tax savings by doing so are quite attractive though one would not have liquid cash till retirement.

Looking for advice. Just started new job that allows Roth 401k. I have a previous traditional 401k worth about 50k and a Roth IRA worth about 40k. I’m 26 and make 150k total this year. My new company allows for mega backdoor to Roth IRA. Should I rollover my old 401k to an T-IRA or rollover to my new employer? How should I split my new contributions between traditional and Roth 401k? Should I mega backdoor after tax to my Roth IRA? Thanks in advance.

Hi All, I need some advice on a job offer. I have been offered a role in HR in London with a leading media and advertising company. The role seems great and challenging and something I really would want to do and the comp offer seems great on paper (£100k base plus pension and health care) What I find strange is they don't have any bonus at this role level. They say it's a pretty senior level(I know a £100k base in UK is a pretty senior role) but I am really doubting why no bonus? Any thoughts?

Hi! I need some advice. I got an offer from an agency and I currently work in industry. The offer I got is a little less than my current salary and they said I may be at risk for not getting the same merit raises as others since I’m already above the typical range for the position. I would be jumping down two position titles as well. However the benefits and culture would be a much better match for me as a young professional. Is the lower salary range normal for agency vs. industry? Thanks!

Maybe it’s burnout from a job where all the cool work benefits you could brag to your friends about are gone bc you wfh now and don’t have access to your cool office and now you work around the clock because there’s no separation between home and work and your agency has done next to nothing to help with that balance and you’ve billed more hours per week than you ever had and now your friends and family are starting to comment on your workload, health, and demeanor. Maybe it’s Maybelline ✨
