How old were you when you had your first child?

I have an employee who had birth complications due to a baby being premature. They were excited to finally go home with the baby but after the baby was released for a couple of days they were sent back to the hospital. The employee was supposed to start their official FMLA leave when the baby was released. With the back and forth complications what kind of note, if at all would be best to have on file so I can properly track FMLA hours? They will run out of PTO in a couple of days.

Hey guys - I’ve recently returned to work from 8 months of maternity leave. I love where I work but some things I experienced while away made returning to work not as easy as it could have been. I want to help similar colleagues and also help the business with retention of staff so I’m volunteering to work on a maternity leave communication strategy with our HR Director. My question for you is - what did you or didn’t you like about how your work treated you when you had time off to have kids?

Had a miscarriage.. it’s my 1st baby and we didn’t find out until 12 weeks (via ultrasound) that the baby passed away at 9 weeks and had to get a dnc. My body is still recovering.. Just want some hope or I guess stories of success after having a miscarriage. I do have pcos so it’s harder for me to get pregnant.. but it still happened. Anyone have any thoughts or advice? Does it get better..?

I've been working late most nights this week. In the office all week despite the WFH policy. Partner has seen me all day. I'm heading out at 5pm to pick my kid up from daycare since my husband has been doing it for me all week. And the partner says we need to catch up before the weekend. Dude. I told you I had to leave at 5pm today. I had another $75 added to my daycare bill this month for being late at pick ups. Don't look annoyed that you didn't come talk to me. I can call you from the car.

Maybe you mamas can help with my anxiety and nervousness I feel at times. 21 weeks prego, went for anatomy scan this week and all is good (minus slight dilation in baby’s kidneys). Because I had a miscarriage earlier this year at 6 weeks I’m so nervous something might go wrong with this pregnancy. No signs it has been- just the nerves. I bought a Doppler- yes I caved in- and I find myself checking way too often. How can I calm my nerves?.. Maybe I need therapy. Thoughts? Suggestions?..

I’m starting to think there is a very dark side to marketing. My whole job is basically manipulating people into spending money, often money they can’t afford. I’m really starting to question my career.

I work for a company with a pretty generous PTO policy and a mostly remote flex policy (4 days a month in office if within 75 miles of the building). One thing I’m wondering if there is a way to help us I get the “I’m taking a mental health day” call out regularly which causes a strain on the rest of the team because we were unable to prepare like we would with pre-planned PTO. Any ideas of things I can do as a manager to encourage pre-planned PTO instead of these call outs?
