I agree with PwC1’s wife 1.5. Ice it up 10min before and put something warm on it for 30min afterwards. The injections aren’t bad but I do have bruising.
My husband use to give them to me but I do it now, no biggy.
I found the injections to be LESS painful doing them myself. It’s awkward to aim for your butt but I think the control helped. Also, I see some point advised to use ice before…. Id really advise against this. The cold can cause the sesame oil to knot up in your muscle and get really uncomfortable bumps. Warm warm warm. I typically put the oil bottle into my bra for about 30 mins before I drew up the oil. The warmth helps the oil more easily enter the muscle. Then a heat pack, some massaging and walking around. I had to start my injections solo when I needed to travel for work and eventually became a piece of cake. Didn’t stop some of the lumps and discomfort but it wasn’t too bad. Good luck!
It really depends. I have had it done twice. First one was extremely traumatic but the second one was not even bad. It depends on who is doing your HSG. Strongly recommending trying to find out who the best Nurse Practitioner in that area in your hospital. Go with an open mind. Will be just fine. And continue to breathe and keep your focus on the monitor!
This might be my naivety but I was just talking through the IVF process with my RE and they said progesterone shots from 5 days before transfer up until about 8 weeks. Is this standard? I always assumed it was shorter 😟
My wife says pain is a 1.5. Apparently it’s more scary than painful.
Thanks!

I would say a 2, they're really not that bad. Agree with PwC, the first few are scary, but then you get used to them.
Every night when my PIO alarm goes off, I roll my eyes, say let's get this over with, then go immediately back to watching my show 60 seconds later :)
Thanks!

1-2 They’re really not as bad as I expected. Most of the time I don’t feel it at all.

Same same. I’m on week 8 now. Hoping doc will tell me to stop soon.
