How relevant is a PMP verification if you are in sales?

Not at all. The only thing that matters when you’re in sales is how much you’ve sold.

likesmart

Doesn’t matter, and they’ve become so common that most of them don’t hold much weight.

I have my PMP and I don't always recommend it to people who are project managers, let alone folks in Sales. Getting the PMP is a ton of work and has a years of experience requirement. I would focus more on certifications relevant to the products you're selling to demonstrate expertise in the product as opposed to the PMP.

Now i have been interviewed and selected for Ameriprise where I would learn on the job and work on workday finance.

Will it be a good choice in the long run?
Also, how hard is it to learn workday without proper formal training/certification ?

My current CTC is 4.5 LPA. My expectations are 10 lpa because I have seen people in my company earning 12-14 with 3-4 YOE (sales, strategy team)

Just wanted to know are my expectations high? As market is hot I have people switching from 4 to 20 also.

Seeking perspectives on career path. TIA!

9 YOE (6.5 in consulting, 2.5 in BU strategy and M&A). Involved in end-to-end process (incl. modeling) but processes largely led by Corporate M&A team. 3 tuck-ins completed (all in 2022).

Options considering:
1/ Continue current path, stack more deal experience, strong chance of Director promo in 3-6 months
2/ Don’t wait, just jump or apply to other roles
3/ Study and go back to grab MBA (considering MIT or Stanford MSX - 1 YR)

TC: 175K (…low)

I’m working a Principal TPM for a FinTech firm offering digital payments platform. I have 10+ YOE and recently got MBA. One of my focus areas in MBA was business analytics where i learnt ML and NLP using R. Now, I’ll go for PMP next and thinking to pick up Google Cloud and go down Architect route. I have used AWS in the past but don’t want to pursue it further as it has grown a lot and will take me years to learn. Also, Competition! What do you folks think? What would you recommend otherwise?

Need some Advice.. I’m a professional MBA student that was working FT and used an PM internship to transition into the space. I stepped in for an actual PM who was on leave and was doing real work. In august they extended my internship to Nov. Yesterday, They offer me a FT APM role, but it starts July 10 and have to respond by 10/15. Internship still ends in Nov, so no employment for 7 months. I’m not too happy with the offer or the wait. What should I do? I am currently job searching.
