Look at the company’s policy. My company won’t let you transfer until you been there at least a year.
I dont think there's a 1 size fits all to this question. Is the transfer for a growth opportunity or into lateral position is worth considering. Also how often a role that opens up (are there multiple roles like this in the company or is this a chance you need to take now while it's available?) Also make sure you check your company's policies and if you cant find it check with HR.
P.s. depending on what you decide, if for any reason you dont get the role, talk to your manager about a development plan to help you get there! It shows a lot of initiative and interest from your end. 😉
Great idea! Thank you so much for the advice

NCAL it’s 6 months
6 months here.
6 months on my job alao
Thank you all
I think the standard is 6 months. a colleague of mine waited half a year before getting transferred. good luck to you!
Usually six months, I know for management/supervisor positions at my company its 1 year unless it’s a promotion or department change.
As others have said, check policy. Internal transfers in my org must be in their position one year before they can move.
I made an internal transfer less than six months on the job. I made a case to transfer to my nursing manager. I was very fortunate enough that she was very understanding. I have been in my new role a month now and couldn’t be happier!
Usually it is 6 months.
I think it depends on how long you've been there...6 months is definitely the minimum though
