Hedge funds close and open all the time - hundreds per year, often hundreds per quarter. What makes them different? AUM? Concentration/diversification of AUM?
Unless the fund is Bridgewater, SAC/Point 72, or similar, I’d stay away.
500 employees is not a small hedge fund. How much AUM do they have? A small hedge fund is like 3-5 people.
Missed that, good catch.
500 is a good sized fund. I’d want to know back vs front office and if that number includes a family office for founder(s)
There is no way there is a new fund with 500 employees and global. Maybe they launched a new fund, but any global Investment Firm with 500 employees has been around for some time. You would literally have to hire a new employee every business day for 2 years straight. Someone is pulling your chain.
Good catch, that would be an insane scale up lol. I bet it’s just a new fund in an existing firm?
Was told that this new hf that started 2.5 years ago is similar to point72
