How supportive are your companies when it comes to taking PTO for mental health days?

Just take the day there is no need for an explanation.

like

This is exactly what I do. They don't need to know why you are taking the day off. Its nobodys concern but your own.

like

They shouldn’t know why. Just use your PTO. I know your generation thinks it’s cool, but the leaders are from the boomer gen and now the next two generations. If your company thinks you can’t handle stress, enjoy a stagnant career.

like

I agree. This is what I do also. They couldn't possibly deny it because it is my right to use my remaining PTO.

like

My manager always makes me feel guilty whenever I try to take a day off. It's really getting annoying. I mean, we're given PTO for a reason. Why shouldn't we be able to take it freely?

like

Our comoany has in-house mental health services and regulary conduct wellness programs for the benefit of the employees, so I would say very. It's my favorite thing about working here since I was diagnised with depression before I applied to them.

like

They are very supportive. We. have policies that gives importance to taking good care of our mental health. They understand that taking the time off for mental wellness is just as important as taking of our physical health.

like

They are very supportive at The Hartford. Honestly management here is almost too nice!

like

Just take it. If doctor diagnoses you with depression, depending on the state you can claim your disability if you are out on extended leave. But the first week grace period is your PTO.
P/s I used to work for progressive

like

We don't have to really give them a reason for using PTO. It's good to mention that you'll be out of office so they can prepare but they can't really say anything about using PTO that you earned.

like

They started giving us mental health day outside of PTO so we don't have to use our PTO. It's a new policy they just added this year, but we've all been appreciating it.

like

I think this is a great policy!

Hello folks,

For any Tata Consultancy HR, I have a question about TCS BPS benifits.
When I joined TCS under BPS last year, my health insurance cover is Rs.5,00,000 with no other domiciliary.
Right now when I see hiring page of BPS I can see below benifits.
My question is why the difference and can TCS revise the benefits for the people who joined previously with less benefits.

Thoughts on sabbaticals for mental health? I’m at a breaking point where my current project has ultimately affected my mental health which is thus affecting my ability to do my job. I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

If you’re a manager and you see an employee that wants to branch out into a different department, why would you keep them boxed in for 2+ years?
