Hi wonderful ladies!! I’m looking to add a little reading chair to my “home office” so I have a place to sit when I’m waiting on signature pages to come in during a closing and/or for those much needed nights off to cuddle up with a book! Any suggestions?? ❤️❤️
Does your agency have a "connections" planning/strategy team or person? If not, is it the philosophy that all strategists should be connections planners? If you do what is their background? Thanks
I received an offer from tcs with 7.5 years of experience
They offered 20lakhs/anum, but i see the variable is like 25 percent in that.
I added the screen shot of breakup here... can someone help with the monthly take-home on this.
Is it beneficial to the tenant to list tenant as an additional insured to a mover’s certificate of insurance (in addition to listing landlord and property manager as additional insured)?

McKinsey & Company Joining the Firm soon. Being an Asian, I was wondering if there is a community at McKinsey & Company for people of my background. I am honestly looking for a way I can give back to the asian/broader community and also relate to people who share my background.
I am not sure what's worse, the stress leading up to the interview or the come down after.
A recruiter mentioned to me the possibility of a down payment assistance loan - does anyone have experience getting this from their employer and willing to share a bit of insight?
I recently asked my boss for a raise after discussing a yearly review with them. I was told because there was a company wide raise back in December, that would technically be my raise, which was $0.45/hr. I’ve stepped in to a number of roles here and feel I am not being paid adequately after taking on the extra work. I’m wondering how to go about asking for a raise of $2/hr after all this.
Could anyone let me know an idea of salary for a M at Deloitte London for Tax (specifically employer services if that makes a difference)?
Any DC fishes play Golf? I realize that the season is almost over, but anyone down for some fall golf ?
I find Recruiting for Strategy much harder than for other departments. Strategists, any tips to connect better via email outreach? What do you want to know or hear that would make you intrigued?

For those that are remote and generally comfortable , what percentage increase would you need to leave for a company on a hybrid schedule? Priceless?

Years after taking and passing the NY bar, I’m sitting for the FL bar exam in Feb. Doing BarBri again (which, annoyingly, I have to pay for), but I also need to take MPRE again as I took it a long time ago. What prep courses are people taking these days? I know it’s a security blanket, but I want to do it to make myself feel better, so I wanted to know which courses for MPRE people are taking these days.
During Covid I was laid off, I took a job in compliance/ legal in house. However, I really am having trouble stomaching the pay cut. Anyway to get back to law firms?
Do people use work laptops for personal stuff? Can an employer track what you do if you browse social media and the web? I don't have a work laptop but I've always been curious when companies give out laptops for people WFH.
This may be just a naive/dumb question, but how do you relax when you’ve got a really stressful file? I’m a junior and I’ve been putting in ~10ish billable hours a day recently, which is more than I’m used to. The evenings (post-8pm) are generally my time to decompress - read a book, watch dumb tv, whatever - but it’s been all work lately until 10 or 11pm and I struggle to go straight from work to bed. Any insight on what everyone else does?
Hi, everyone. Wondering if you can help me?… The Partner at my firm is asking me for a list of Plaintiff law firm conferences. I used to work for the Defense, so I know about all of those conferences but I’m really stumped as to how to find the Plaintiff side conferences. We mainly do class action and mass tort. Any advice for me as to how to find them? Know of any? Thank you so much!
I am at a very small firm (<10 attorneys) and am “interviewing” with a larger firm. Considering partner and counsel roles. Beyond compensation structure, billable requirements, and partnership expectations, what questions should I ask? If considering partner position, what is fair to ask about their books?
Has anyone here ever set their linked in to “open to finding a new job” and got busted by their current firm? Is doing that a risky click?
Anyone ever experience a firm significantly misrepresenting a position they hired you for? I recently took a position with a firm to practice a specific type of litigation. Turns out the firm only has about 5 cases in that field and they are all already staffed up. Now I’m stuck at a firm I barely like doing work that’s completely irrelevant to my experience and career goals, and I feel like leaving within a year is a bad look resume wise
As a new associate, just having graduated and taken the bar, what expectations do you have for the work you will handle in a transactional practice you are joining... In the first few days, first few months and the end of your first year?
Some good news after almost 11 months of applying and interviews and lots of rejections finally got an offer! In NYC small firm, ex big law folks, no billable hours, niche practice area, appearance of forwarded thinking firm, remote till who knows when, emphasis on pro bono initiatives and building book of business. The catch salary. Was making around 140k at last firm with 1800 billable. Offer is 85k and revist to bump to around 100k in several months after review (plus discretionary bonus)
So I am finishing a masters degree in international commercial law. I have my LLB. I have almost completed my licence. I really do not look like a lawyer. I can adapt. I have neck tattoos and full body pretty much and hands and fingers too. What are the chances of being hired? And before you say no chance I’m aware how conservative our industry is I would be right down the middle politically. If I’m good and have a good cv/resume can I get into a good law firm? Why are we so backward or anti ink?
I know the political turmoil and messed up policies/decisions have hurt our economy and the state of the country in general, but damn do I love my country 🇺🇸❤️ there’s no place in the world I’d rather be.
I’m a first year who just started this week. I’m about to turn in my first memo. We’re working from home so it’ll be over email. Maybe I’m over thinking it (I definitely am lol) but what should I say in the email!?
How much do you rely on your para? I’m in my 30s and pretty computer literate, I don’t dictate, I like doing research etc. I know other attorneys that have their paras do all their discovery, all their research, all their motions and I wonder how it’s possible to hit billables if someone else is doing the majority of your work? Seems crazy to me.
