Hi fishes! Nagarro declined the counter offer letter ₹33,00,000 + shares worth 4.5LPA
I've 6+ yrs experience (mobile dev.)
Nagarro offered 18LPA. Initially I told HR for 22 but he mentioned 18 into their internal portal to their senior so after clearing all interview rounds I got 18.
When I asked the HR, he told me to accept it for now and bring the counter offer letter so they can revise offer letter.
But now they declined. Weird.

Say no to stuff.
Thank you! It’s hard to look at it as “additional work” when it’s a project I’ve been staffed on for months, but I will certainly flex my no muscles
Just say something like - I’m sorry I’m really under it. I don’t have capacity to take this on right now because If I spread myself any thinner than I already am, i will start dropping the ball on cases and the quality of my work is going to start slipping and I can’t let that happen. I really enjoy working with you and as soon as I feel like everything isn’t on fire, I will reach out to you first thing.
Don’t Just say no. And don’t say you don’t get paid enough. They’ll never respect you again or shitcan you or gaslight you until you leave. Just my 2 cents after being through the ringer with some of the nastiest sob partners you’d ever want to deal with.
You’re blowing my mind LA1.
It’s probably too late for my attitude never slipping, but it is EXCELLENT advice.

Go back to biglaw or lateral, honestly. They’re not going to change their culture. Most “lifestyle” firms are a scam like this.

Agree. If you’re good and don’t have the stomach to purposefully do shoddy work or upset partners / clients, you’re going to be working biglaw hours for less pay. I went back to biglaw for that reason.
Just say no, they can’t get rid of you
Put your phone and watch in do not disturb mode after a certain hour.
I always recommend an open door communication policy. I do not suggest putting your phone on do not disturb without having a conversation with someone. Go to a mentor or someone you trust and discuss the situation and get advice from someone who can direct you appropriately regarding the firms Culture and expectation.

Half my group left midlaw because of this. The other half stayed and don’t work much because they just said no and we’re slowly pushed out. If you’re lucky, you can cruise like them. If not, you’ll be fired (unlikely in my experience).
This is exactly why I didn’t make this move last year when I lateraled. I know I’m not good at setting boundaries and my practice area was super busy last year (still is). I would have taken a $100k+ pay cut for the same amount of work.
I completely agree with you. I feel like I’ve been putting up these suggested boundaries and my partners are starting to push back and have become even more micro-managey and giving me more work as a result. Honestly scared I might get fired if I don’t start working more than ten hours per day.
The micro managing is the worse! I spot an aggressive, fake deadline fire drill from miles away.
What’s the pay difference
I’m $75k below market (still making $210k)
