How to deal with team peer pressure to eat junk and order alcohol at dinners? It’s a little extreme, and monitoring food while traveling is hard enough. It's not like I don’t want the pizza guys 😭

This is something I hate about our job! It gives me anxiety when my diet is influenced by people around me. To avoid alcohol I normally I tell people I don’t drink during the week (which I don’t). The actual food is a bit harder, try to speak up for people to get their own entrees instead of it being a sharing situation (then order your own lean protein and veggies or some other healthful thing). When people are inevitably ordering too many unhealthy apps and asking if people will want something you can say “oh I don’t eat such and such” or “let’s get x instead”. I also have some minor food allergies that I use to politely decline things. In general the BDD rule is pretty solid - bread (basically carbs including rice/pasta/potatoes), drink, dessert - choose one. Of course don’t pick a 1200 calorie dessert that will erase your other progress.

I honestly just the expectation up front that I’m a food nazi and prefer to eat clean-ish. That way they at least pause a bit before suggesting dominoes.

Otherwise: just order from a diff place lol always a jimmy johns or subway around, not the best options but def not worse than pizza and breadsticks.

Now that our summer trip is booked, I officially have 5.5 months to drop 15lbs (I gained like 5lbs over the last week due to moving and eating out as we have no food, otherwise the goal would have been 10). My dad has asked for something like Couch to 5k but for resistance training with bodyweight, small hand weights, and resistance bands. He loved C25k because he just had to open it and follow the directions. No searching YouTube, no designing workouts, etc. He already has little weights and bands. Achilles question. I developed Achilles tendinitis last fall and it’s taking forever to fully heal. It’s definitely better but it’s been 10 months. The dr just said to be patient and don’t do anything that aggravates it. I rotate between peloton biking, weights, and yoga and it doesn’t get as stiff as it used to but I feel it start to strain if I do more than a mile of running. Does Achilles tendinitis ever fully recover or am I stuck with this?
