How to “double-check” on stimulants? I know I need to triple check things all the time but never actually do it on stims. It’s like it makes you DO DO DO without thinking and pausing to reflect!

I told my doctor that I sometimes experience “tunnel vision” on meds, and spent 4 hours on a simple 20-min analysis because of the “go go go” effect the medicine has on me. Her response is that this is actually less about the stimulants, more about the ADHD nature itself - the tendency to experience hyperfocus. My solution is to set a lot of alarms to force break those “go go go” moments.

Sounds like your dose is too high. The point of stimulants is to make you slow down. Talk to your doctor.

It does slow me down tbh. But I think I feel I can’t maintain cognisance throughout the day that I should check things. I just send the teams message after expressing myself in 4 sentences when I should’ve paused looked again and compressed into 2 sentences

Has anybody had experience "discovering" themselves and how did you do it?

I don't know if this is the ADHD but I've been at my firm for a year and not one day have I woken up with motivation to go above and beyond the bare minimum. I haven't been passionate or interested in any project I've been on. Outside of work, I have a few small hobbies but nothing I'd consider a true passion. Everybody says "just find a job in something you like" but idk if I like anything enough to make it a career!
