How to get an ADHD diagnosis? I have had the inkling suspicion that I might have it but want to see a medical professional to get help.

See a psych. Your GP could probably refer you - some doc's wont give you a script unless they know the psych doing diagnosis. It takes a while (~3-6 wks.). You'll have at minimum 2 consultations. First, simple conversation that helps rule out comorbid conditions like anxiety or depression that share similar symptoms. Second, diagnostic and evaluation forms (e.g., DSM 5). These forms usually are split by "inattentive" or "hyperactive". Maybe testing or scans. The interview is key - you need to communicate the issues you have, remediation efforts, and what has or hasn't worked. If your psych diagnoses you, it's back to the GP to get the script. They are typically highly opiniated about what meds they'll prescribe (generics, XR, etc.), dosing regimens, etc. Expect to spend a year finding a routine that works for you. Each dose change tends to get trialed for a month or more before changing, unless you have negative symptoms. Have your GP and pharmacy pre-authorize the script with insurance, otherwise you'll have a 2-5 day hold. You can't auto-refill,need paper script. GP maybe give you scripts for 2-4 months at a time that can only be filled after 30 days. Life changing in weeks 0-2, but meds won't make you a superhero. Many experience better sleep, ability to maintain routines, mental clarity, ability to sit still, less social anxiety or distractibility. "Focus" is an overused and fairly inaccurate word in my experience. With consulting, I was able to get organized, reduce stress, and take better care of myself on meds. But you'll have to put in effort or continued therapy to address deeper issues now that you can be neurotypical 6-12 hours a day.

@A1: I’ll be starting with meds soon. I feel confused almost all the time. I hope I get some relief.

Can almost certainly say you will! I know I did.

You'll start low - avoid the urge to take extra. Treat it as a learning process and you'll have better outcomes. Have follow ups with GP/Psych and do your part to understand what is and isn't improving, what may have contraindications (sleep, diet, stress, life and work events, nicotine and caffeine, etc.) You'll start recognizing what meds can and can't do, and what you do/don't do that helps or hurts your symptoms.

[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture

I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am

I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)

Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

I wish I would have had this bowl ten years ago 😔 I recently was diagnosed with ADHD. I have been able to manage this far with coping mechanisms but I recently got divorced, have four kids and a busy job with a lot of aspects that are new to me. Now I may get fired for “lack of attention to detail” and “missing deadlines.” I wish I had looked into this so much earlier. I’m two weeks into taking Wellbutrin but I think it takes awhile to kick in, my psychiatrist suggested starting with that…

We’re considering adding wearables tracking to pull in health metrics for a wellness app. Let’s say we plan on doing iOS only and one approach is only doing apple health integration, while another is to use a 3rd party aggregator like Validic or Humanapi to integrate once and get access to Fitbit, Oura, WearOS, and tons of other wearables. Which route would you suggest?
