Slalom manager pay ? With and without MBA? Are the long term pay scales just bad compare to big 4? I don't get why more people don't switch
Anyone have info on MBB/Strategy& supply chain consulting? Group size, actively hiring, common backgrounds (MBA/certifications required/helpful?), project types, & interview prep tips? Looking to enter as an experienced hire. Currently a procurement financial analyst and just passed my CSCP certification. Ex-big4. Thanks!
Recs on a quick financial modeling certification? I’m looking at the CFI FMVA cert but they claim it will take 6 months. The limiting factor for me right now as far as getting a new job seems to be modeling experience so I’d like to credentialize myself a bit
Is FRM or CFA a better certification?
CFA > CPA > CMA > CVA > CIA > CISA. Discuss.👆
Is it a red flag to MBA programs to leave my firm after 1-1.5 years without a promotion (promotion would be at 2 YOE)? Would it also be bad if I switched jobs more than once before applying (applying at 3 YOE, will enter school at 4 YOE)?
What salary can you expect for fed consulting coming out of an MBA program like Georgetown? I know commercial is ~145k base but have no data points on fed salaries.
PI campus hire(undergrad) here, want to go for M7 MBA after 3 years at EY, is that generally too early?
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
Does the CMA have any value add or nah?
I’m sponsored from Deloitte at my mba program and I’m planning to rerecruit for MBB. Some of my classmates and others in the program really question why I would do this. I personally did a lot of research into comp and it seems like MBB definitely would exceed in just a few years after mba. I guess just looking for opinions, is this an irresponsible plan? Or do you guys think getting MBB is def worth giving up my sponsorship
Veteran | MBA candidate looking to pivot into D&I strategy. Thoughts on general HR vs diversity recruiting?
Want to shift from advertising strategy into a brand side marketing gig or a product design role. Thinking about getting a masters MBA or masters in industrial design to make the shift. I’m having a hard time getting companies to consider me otherwise and feel like I have quite a few skill gaps to cover. Good idea or waste of money?
Finance undergrad + MBA. No tech background. Pure business consulting experience. Looking to do a Masters of Data Science to make the pivot (may or may not stay in consulting). Thoughts?
Looking at getting my PMP remotely. What’s the most cost effective program to use? Not trying to get ripped off.
I am really interested to join McKinsey after my MBA. What are some of your hire stories? What steps did you take to make sure you got the position in McKinsey?

B4 Tax. White male. 720 GMAT. 3.9 from non target undergrad. Military experience. Want to get into consulting (ideally MBB) but also keep my ear to the ground for any opportunities to work with startups. Any chance of M7?
I’ve been faking happiness for 5+ years and don’t know how to truly be happy. Have an awesome wife, 🐶, 🏡, in a great group at EYP, work is fulfilling, mid 30’s, family income $350k+, both of us have MBA’s - there shouldn’t be anything wrong. I’m a former intel case officer and interrogator that spent a lot of time working with Tier 1&2 operators overseas in high tempo ops and was very well decorated during my ~13Y of service. I do struggle with PTSD at times, but that’s expected w/ former life.
The ad industry is legendarily homogenous. Won’t unionizing simply close ranks & protect existing white professionals, who then protect other professionals just like them, resulting in LESS diversity?
Hey all - I got an awesome new job Accenture in the applied intelligence practice as a consultant. I am also doing my MBA part time at a T15 school. The MBA exit salary is on average 150k for consultants in my program. I was hoping that when I finish my MBA, I would be able to ask for a raise to match my salary to what those MBA folks normally get. Is there a way for me to request that in ACN? If so, how open are leadership to that conversation?
Hi All. Recently got laid off here in Chicago. Trying to network with other people from other firms. I was wondering if any consultants in Chicago would like to meet up sometime? Thank You.
Hey Big 4 fish, how many firms make you give back portions of your signing bonus if you leave within the allotted timeframe? I’m leaving one Big 4 for another and technically need to give half back...
How does experienced hiring (generally) work in consulting? Are there cycles similar to campus recruiting or is it year-round? Got laid off a few weeks back and the job hunt has been frustrating
Bought a rental property last year and paid points to get the rate down. Should I try refinancing? I looked at Better Mortgage but my principle amount was too low for them to give me any offers. Wonder if it's worth to continue looking.

In honor of National Voter Registration Day, The New Yorker released the transcript of a previously unpublished interview with James Baldwin, who gave a first-hand account of "Freedom Day 1963," a Black voter-registration drive in Selma, Alabama. Baldwin's descriptions from that day are so vivid and detailed that you can feel the fear and anger of the event. If you have a couple of minutes, I highly recommend you read it.
Any recommendations for a career coach? I'm a mid-level looking towards promotion to senior associate so looking for coaching on management and bd (but not opposed to advice on exit opportunities, just don't know much about intentionally charting a career path beyond stick it out at the firm) Cross posting, I'm a WOC (Asian)
