Q: for FAANG recruiters, do candidates get a reject stamp after failing even at the later stages?
I advanced to the last stage at Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.
A friend who is a hiring manager recently recommended me and this time without even a HR call I received a straight up thanks but no thanks email.
Does this mean I’ve been permanently black listed?
I managed to secure an interview for JP Morgan Chase. This is for Asset & Wealth Management Global Private Bank Analyst program 2023. I ask my recruiter and he revealed me some info. This is a single interview session of 2 hours before getting any offer. I will face 5 interviewers. This will be all behavioral. For people who got into JP Morgan Chase, do you have any tip for me to pass this interview for this entry level role? JPMorgan Chase

I was struggling with this too in my first month on the job, and a partner told me that all consultants (herself included) are just a bunch of “insecure overachievers”.
It’s something we all deal with, OP. It takes a solid 3-6 months to get settled anywhere, and in this profession, things change all the time (your team, your responsibilities, your project, your industry). I think that if you lead with humility, demonstrate curiosity & a willingness to learn and treat others with kindness, that’s what people will remember and they’ll be more likely to help you out when you do need it.
On a more tactical note - the first time you have a question, ask. It signals you don’t know something but you’re curious to learn without you having to say “I’m new to this” and it opens the door for more. The longer you go without asking a question, the harder it gets to speak up.

Insecure overachiever - that describes me so well!
Ugh I feel ya OP. I get this feeling too when I start new job, project, etc. Are you a perfectionist? I think part of my anxiety when starting something new stems from my belief that I have to be 100% on top of my game and know everything right away. In reality, you just started, you still have a lot to learn about the company, operations, the business, etc. and I honestly believe they wouldn’t have hired you unless they believe you’re capable. :) When I was working at a FAANG one of my managers told me that he honestly didn’t expect any of his product managers/program managers to be that useful until at least ~6 months in (and this was pre-remote when I could just literally walk up to any one’s desk and ask a million questions lol). He was semi-joking and exaggerating, but his point when I was expressing qualms was that there is a learning curve, but the company obviously hired us because they believe we can do the job/have the right experience. It will take time. In the meantime it’s totally normal to feel the way you feel and I think many of us experience it. Be gentle on yourself and remember you can do this!! Just my two cents. 😊

Such a perfectionist. Terrified of failing. Thank you for the advice
