Do your job really well. Be timely. Do quality work. How can you play at he next level when you're not a 100% at yours yet? Prove yourself and then ask for a little more. It's easy to get over eager.

The difference in your compensation at a higher rating will be marginal... If it's worth the effort to kill yourself working just to feel nice and bubbly inside though, then you need to basically be doing the job of the person a level above you. Or at least partly. I wouldn't bother though, personally.

If you go by the real definition of going above and beyond you ll burn out. The key is in showing subtly that you are a hard worker basically don't be quite about the good things that you do. Modest and humble brag is the best brag. Get yourself involved in activities that give you FaceTime with the higher levels. Eg. Presenting at meetings ,submitting simple things to your knowledge share. Ask critical questions they are the biggest value add

Great insight. Thanks guys. I agree for the most part but wanted to see others opinions

Hi all, looking to buy a fourplex in Austin TX. Off market they will accept $625k “as is”. My only financing option is fha it seems since I don’t have 15% down. Current rents are $4300. It’s in south Austin part of 78704 but a really bad street. My thoughts are it’ll gentrify and I’ll condo regime it. Any major concerns, am I buying at the peak? Are there other financing options I should entertain? First house so a bit nervous. Thank you!

Got offered to go to RSM from a big four with a 40% raise and a promotion. I should make manager this round if I stay so promotion isn’t that big of a deal. Should I take it? I’ll have smaller clients, but think I’ll really shine there too. Less work, more pay... I could always go back to my current firm. Thoughts?

Has anyone tried getting out of their lease and been successful? I’ve been isolating out of the city for 3mo and will be here at least another 3mo, if not more. I live in one of those large/newer buildings managed by Greystar Properties as opposed to a townhouse. Any successful angles/negotiation tactics/DC laws that worked in your favor (relative to the public health crisis/pandemic) would be greatly appreciated. For context, lease technically ends Dec 9, but am looking to get out before then

Hi all! I recently accepted a remote/hybrid RN position to try something new. Majority of my experience is at bedside. The pay is less than bedside (as a traveler), but more than a staff nurse. Are there any RN’s that left bedside for a remote position that can give advice on the work/life balance? What pros and cons do you encounter?

I was at a deposition—almost 20 people in the room, I was one of two women attorneys and only person of color. Somehow, when they realized there weren’t enough seats at the table, it was me that had to sit on a chair not at the table.

I’m so sick of this shit.

Do you record your unbillable time? I have had conflicting responses. I have been told it's not good for efficiency calculations but others have told me if your still doing work let people know. For example, I get weird international stuff sometimes that not everyone gets (I think maybe? ) and I need to reread the 5471 rules or 8865 rules as I do the returns. I have been told not to bill for this but if I didn't have to spend time to do such things my billable hours would be higher

There’s a hotel right across the street that’s $150 per night.. it’s alright, but not as great. Should I be mindful about how much I’m spending or should I blow up the budget until someone says something?
