How to handle it when someone tries to boss you around telling you how to do your job but is clearly incompetent at theirs? Don't want to raise it to my manager because I don't want to smear someone else's reputation

It would be better if you try communicating the same to your AC, ask them if they are open to some upward feedback. There may be a possibility it can actually help them focus on something they can improve or on the other hand they can share there perspective on the situation which might not be evident to you.
Communication is the key, the AC is the person spending majority of time so it's always good to team up to grow together because at the end of day, they do not have any personal grudges or anything but have some responsibilities to take care of and expectations to fulfill.
Hope this helps!

I did what I thought was an informal info chat with a team about an opening. The team lead( Sr. Dir) called my VP who ended up calling me wondering what was happening. Why would the team lead do that? Is there benefit in asking him? Or is this a sign of his working style and what I consider low EQ.

I gave notice to one of the partners at my small firm last week. It was amicable, but she told me to wait to tell the other partner until he returned from vacation. In the interim, she told the other partner and he blew up. He is now making insane demands and threatening to call my future employer if i don’t meet them. Most problematically, he refuses to meet with me to discuss transitioning my cases over the next week. I am not sure what to do, and I am worried about ethical rules.

Colleague has put in his resignation. They are offering him whatever he wants to stay including 4days a week work from home. He’s not bluffing and plans to leave. However, at this same time I was asked to begin working as a supervisor for the engineering team and I would get a promotion at the beginning of the year. I have been supervising and managing our team of 6 for months with no extra pay or bonuses. I was told yesterday that raises will be light this year. Yet today they spare nothing.

I used to pay $99 a year for Hootsuite all of the sudden they auto billed me $588 for the same pro plan. They sent me an email stating I was getting a lot of features they had upgraded through the years and had to raise the price. Has anyone else experienced this? Did you find another source to use instead of Hootsuite? Are they fair in pricing?

Is it normal for a start-up to be super vague and keep setting up meetings to get to know you but gives you bare minimum details about them?

I had a start-up reach out to me and after a few meetings I have barely been able to get any information about them. I don't know name, size, or anything but a vague description about what they offer (don't even know what role they would want me in). Is this normal or am I right to be annoyed?

Looking for some support. I’ve been at my job for just over a year & it’s become very clear that there is no growth. I received a raise, taking me from $23/hr to $24.60. I’m the only one that does my job, and it involves planning all the marketing, social media, franchisee development, franchisee training, social initiatives, etc. I want to ask for a raise, but what’s reasonable ? Advice needed. I’m leaving an incredibly toxic work environment (admin, students, parents, etc) for my dream job. I already resigned, but my students don’t know yet. I knew if I told them, their behavior would be even worse. How would you explain to the kids you’re leaving? I don’t want my P to know I’ve been hired elsewhere, so I don’t want to tell them I have a new position, but I also don’t want them to think they ran me off (or that I got fired, lol). I’m leaving next week.

Have people received inflationary raises? My dad received a letter stating that they’re giving him a 6.5% raise + a one time lump sum of $750 bc of inflation, retroactive to July 1st. He works for a university and is part of a union. Kind of feel like my company is being shady because I work in CRE & we do raises + bonuses in February which was when I was planning to ask for an inflationary raise. But I feel like a lot of companies have done this without having their employees ask?
