Clarivate Analytics why is the interview process so incredibly long?
First the recruiter took days to reply to her initial set up for a phone interview, made me do an assessment, waited a few days to hear back after she told me I passed, then scheduled a prep call and had me waiting for over 30 mins and cancelled on me. Then did two more interview and it’s been 2 weeks since I’ve heard back. I sent a follow up email today and waiting for a reply. This is crazy!

All you can do is provide value and make their life easier to the point where they want you to not leave. If you do this and they still don’t advocate for you then that means they want their life to be harder and their team to accomplish less
You can do a great job and hope they're advocating for you. But so far as making sure they're advocating, you may never know if they are. Some managers will give credit to their team, some not so much, some will take the credit for themselves. Some managers will avoid advocating for people as they don't want them to move up and leave their team. It can get complicated and messy. That's business.
I think the only way is to get to know them and assess their character. Some people won’t have the difficult conversations and others will be upfront

If you need somebody else to be your advocate in the workplace, perhaps it's time to find another job and be your own advocate.
Just like you, your manager has their own agenda and priorities, which may require being their own advocate touting their job, priorities and goals and not necessarily yours.
Don't trust anybody else to be your own "booster" or "cheerleader", be your own.
In addition, relying on somebody else, like your manager, to advocate for you is basically "giving them the knife by which they can stab you in the back with", which in turn you may find yourself out of a job and out on the street looking for your next job.
Easy. He/she is not. He/she is advocating for him/herself
