How to maximise my chase reserve point redemption value? 140k points in balance. Cash redemption value is $2.1k. I am wondering if transferring to some airline partner and booking a business class to south east Asia later this year or next year will be a better value? Any thoughts? I also want to downgrade my card to sapphire as I don’t find $550 worth it for me at the moment.

Do the pay yourself back thing. Points are worth 1.5x If you call and say you want to downgrade they might give you ~$300 credit to stay

like

Nope, it’s in the form of statement credit

like

Transfers with smart redemptions are typically the best value. If you’re not sure about traveling in the near term, use the temporary pay yourself back feature

like

OP Something to consider: the value comes from sweet spots for business/first class. If your point are already in UA/DL/AA, those sweet spots are almost entirely unavailable.

Hyatt gives best value

Ok. Thanks. But I am not sure if I will stay with them tbh. Never have and no status with them either

140k? Transfer to AA and fly Etihad’s apartment twice. That’s about as much “cash” value as you could ever get out of that redemption.

You can’t transfer URs to AA

Well, I don’t see AA as an option for chase rewards transfer. United is the only US carrier I see. Southwest and jetblue as well but I usually don’t fly those careiers

Ignore me on AA. You could always transfer to BA and then do the same. BA prices by segment and length so there’s a lot of value in these prices compared to the way AA can set costs.

OP, when did you open your card? Definitely call and ask for a retention offer. If you decide to downgrade, make sure to use up your annual travel credit and the DoorDash credit. You can do both of these, downgrade, and get your prorated annual fee refunded. Chase won't claw these credits back.

They'll refund your annual fee if you cancel within 40ish days of it hitting your account. But don't cancel it. Downgrade it to a no annual fee card 1. It'll keep your line of credit open and aging 2. You'll get a prorated refund of your annual fee at the time of downgrade 3. You won't have to worry about losing your UR points Before apply for your new CSR (having already downgraded your current one), you may want to lower your credit limit. Chase has been known to decline applications if your current Chase issued CL is at or above 50% of your income.

It all depends on what you think your travel will be in the next 12 months transferring out of a flex currency with out a redemption in mind is ill advised

Anyone heard about the eb5 visa category? Looking for options for my younger brother who's not in IT

My H1B visa transfer with EY has been approved. We have received the e-approval. Can I now resign or give notice at my current firm? The guidance apparently is to wait for physical copy of the approval before officially resigning. But that date is uncertain and I’m afraid I could get the physical copy a day before my start date or a week after that. I’d like to give my firm around two weeks notice and I am scheduled to start on 27th Sept. Thoughts? As usual, radio silence from my EY recruiter.

Going into last night I had a 10 point lead with DeAndre Hopkins to play and a flex (David Montgomery or Allen Robinson) and my boss had Taylor Lockett. Thought I had this on lock and then Lockett decides to go off for 50+ points. Now I'm down 20 points with an open flex spot for Montgomery or Robinson. Leaning towards Robinson since Montgomery hasn't had a good game since Week 2. Thoughts?
