Recently transitioned to a startup and my confidence has skyrocketed. Presenting, interviewing, making my point heard are SO much easier when I’m working with colleagues and not clients who I feel don’t want me there. For those who struggle with confidence, there is hope!
Thoughts on finding an easy-part time remote job (May or may not be relevant to my career) for a year and living abroad? How hard would it be to come back and pickup on your career?
Has anyone else found HR timelines to be a crawl during all of this year? Top 5 bank or smaller bank, it’s totally glacial pace, it doesn’t matter. I try to normally be engaged and quick with stuff client side or internal stuff but it truly blows my mind how slow HR is on things. Like if I was to be this slow client side, I’d be fired. Does anyone have similar experiences over the past year?
Interviewing for Accenture and concerned about the background check. I have a few drinking tickets from silly mistakes made in college. How strict is Accenture regarding misdemeanors? Is this an automatic disqualification from consideration? My criminal history is not related to the job responsibilities.
Anyone who is on an H1B in consulting (strategy/ operations) tried visa transfer recently to Tech strategy roles? Wanted to understand if people have had a smooth sail or is there any reason to worry about timelines? Just can’t go on at McKinsey tbh. Thanks
What is the starting position for someone out of undergrad in EY-Parthenon? What’s the average salary for that role? (Living in a low to mid cost of living city)
Will the inability to speak the local language fluently in a country like Germany or Japan definitely impact utilization negatively below manager level?
Happy Friday y’all! Anyone here have experience using a professional resume writer/service? Would love a recommendation, bonus points if they have experience helping consultants land jobs in industry at mid/senior levels. Cheers!
Recently i got an offer from HCL tech. The scheduled only one round of interview and then HR discussion happened and offered me around 45% from current package. My question is usually for experienced candidates there will be atleast 2 rounds of interview right? So after joining will they put me in bench and i will have to attend interviews there? Pls pour your views
Considering a design lead role in industry, what salary range should I expect/ask for? For context, I have more than 6 years of experience (mix of industry and consulting).
SPG recommendations near PWC office in NYC?
I'm getting my MBA from the University of Arizona, how prestigious is the AACSB accreditation? And do MBB or Big 4 Consultant firms care about it?
Lol to the partner saying “no pressure on coming back to the office” but mentions it in every single team meeting, talks about how great it is for the client to see us there and even offers free lunch and drinks 😂 I mean thank you but do you really want to risk your whole team being out sick?
Is wlb for consulting in UK (London) better than that in US? Trying to convince myself that the pay parity is worth it. Also, could you please help me understand whether the total long term col (inc healthcare, childcare etc) in London is less than that in a hcol US city (say NYC), and thus the saving potential is similar? TIA!
For those of you who had worked in both EY and PwC for tax (corporate tax). How do they compare in terms of culture/hours? I’ll be joining PwC’s ITP group.
Considering leaving EY for a 300 FTE consulting firm, mainly govt sector, for a strategic talent role (non-client facing). Current Manager in a long-term product management role. Offer is 30% increase, director title, and fully remote. Concerned about jumping to a company I had never heard of prior to LinkedIn connection. Thoughts? 30% too low for this type of jump?
Can anyone speak to culture and lifestyle in the VC/EM groups at WSGR and Perkins Coie? Considering a lateral move as a junior. Very unhappy at my firm but I do have it good hours-wise by biglaw standards doing lender-side finance.. nervous about going to a total sweatshop.
When it comes to recruiting, is it good for the industry when the first word out of HR is "diversity" and not "talent?"
I have an initial phone screen with Accenture coming up. Any advice on how to prepare/ what to expect? I am applying as a 2022 grad interested in the CDP.
Does IHG do a status match with either bonvoy, Hyatt or Hilton? Any contact or link I can request on
