How to prepare for the AE role as an SDR?

Honestly at my company, I feel like we are learning nothing about the next step. I just book meetings and my AEs won’t tag me along further in the sales cycle. VPs obviously care about preparation and I got nothing to show for it

Yes - ask to shadow your AES calls. If there’s an AE you like working with, ask them their advice. Odds are they’ve been in the same position as you! So they can help.

Creative teams should work together, but the copy should come during the low-fidelity stages.

Copy informs the tone, narrative, and hierarchy of your design.

You wouldn't start filming a movie before writing the script. Don't design your ads, and then expect a copywriter to pigeonhole the copy.

Don’t assume that more likes and comments directly lead to sales. I’ve had posts with 20 likes that generated me more leads than a post with 100 likes.

What are some “typical” career paths for Account Executives other than working up towards the largest enterprise AE roles. Hey all- I’m a L&D Professional with some sales experience. I want to jump into Sales L&D but many roles require sales experience. I’ve helped close complex sales for large scale project work but have never been held accountable to monthly revenue targets since it wasnt my primary role with the exception of a brief time spent as an SDR. Looking for input if I should just go for Sales L&D positions or start as an AE and then apply for Sales L&D. Currently have interview for AE role with Gartner.

I am trying to move from my farming role back to an outbound prospecting position. I have a couple screening calls for some pretty awesome companies and I would love some pointers on how to beat the objection that I have only been in my farming role since June. How would you sell the fact you want to go back to SDR, I am sick and tired of non revenue generating activity and miss having a list to attack.
