I live in one of the most expensive cities in the US, and even with combined incomes of $600k, my SO and I can not afford (nor justify) a 3-bedroom house (median price north of $2M). We also work nonstop and I don’t know how we’ll be able to raise a family with our workload and COL. Looking to relocate and find a new job where I work 40 hours a week so I can raise a family, where COL is much lower but we don’t take a massive pay cut. Does such a place exist?? Or am I looking for a fairy tale?
Here's a real money post. Just got a 2K raise and pretended I was grateful. Fuckin' advertising.
Hi Fishes, I joined Accenture on Sept'2021 as a Azure DevOps Engineer. I have fixed pay of 10.7 LPA + Variables(21%) = Around 13LPA. What's the maximum package that Accenture is giving for Level 11 person? And whats the promotion scenario for SSE role? THANKS in advance.Accenture
What are promotional raises looking like for your firm from associate to senior associate? Apparently GT is only doing a 7% raise (per multiple folks in the GT bowl). In the past, most folks have received at least 15% up to 25% if you exceeded expectations, from what I’ve seen. If other firms are higher, I might consider jumping boats because 7%, even mid pandemic is a slap in the face. Especially for someone who exceeded expectations.
Hey!!! Excited to be part of this community. I am going to negotiate my salary after receiving a promotion. When I discussed it with my manager he said that I don’t have a leg to stand on. Instead of supporting me through this conversation he made me start doubting my value and what I bring to the table. I am planning to still negotiate but need help on the how to. Would love advice and support. 🙋🏽♀️
Anyone over here who have lost their mothers at an early age due to suicide or any other reason? My spouse is a competent educated well earning man and I think he'll be able to raise my 2 kids. My life is not what I had imagined and I don't have the strength to fight because I don't even know what I want. I feel it'll be better if I'm not around for my parents, for my spouse, it's just my kids that I think of that quasi stops me. But I feel even they'll be better off with someone else. Numb.
Am I undervalued? Acct Mgr, 6.5 years experience at the same company, top performer, logistics, $3bn company. I made presidents club for 2019, and still didn’t top $100k (made $97k all in) . My territory started at around $3.5m in 2015 and is now $10m/yr. I cold call, prospect, and am responsible for on boarding and growing accounts no warm leads, and then take care of customer’s accounts and satisfaction. 2017-2020 my annual take home (incentive+salary) was between $95-97k. Working since 2013 in same company. No promotion Not good Salary Hike. Don't have savings to resign. What should I do?
Mid-Year Hike Check (Except Assurance SL): Service Line: Sub Service Line: Current CTC: Current Designation: Hike Percentage: Promotion/Progression: New Designation: New CTC: YOE as of Dec'21:
I’m pretty down today and wanted a few opinions. I just turned 37 and have been a director for almost 3 years. I had a check in today with my boss and she basically said I wasn’t up for a promotion this cycle. That crushed me because I have been working my butt off to get promoted. This isn’t where I saw myself at all at this age. Not that I’m old but I’m way older than most of the VPs at my agency and feel so behind in my career. Trying to get out of the negative head space but can’t shake it.
Me a guy , but my director who recently gave me a promotion says I look cute and would look great as a female... little strange comment to hear this from a male
NYS I work for NYS, I have been able to get interviews for the next step up position, I'm currently an 18, I would like to move to a 23. What are good interview strategies to use when looking for a promotion.
Just heard EY has pretty decent raise this year! Could someone from EY please share what’s the salary for manager 2 and 3 in NY office, core tax group? Potentially thinking about transferring… TIA!
Just put an offer in on a house. Single income: 127 + 10-30% bonus. Promo to M this June. Price: 705k w/ 20% down. 2.75% interest. Remaining assets outside of house = 280k I never thought I could actually afford this much house, but my numbers seem to make it work. Internet strangers, how dumb am I?
Pwc deals - Are we going to do promotion twice a year starting from this year (ie Jan and July)? Heard a rumor
Friendly reminder to please stop telling your female coworkers that don’t want children “to just wait a few years - you’ll change your mind”. 😡
If the salary I reported is $1k off official because I included cash awards, would that raise a flag with revera / background checks?
I have been at a large, well-known agency for a while but thinking about making the jump to a small/mid-size firm for a big raise and promotion. Should I be worried about “prestige?” Will it be impossible to go back to large agencies in the future? Would love to know everyone’s thoughts.
How long does one have to be a strategy director, before they can expect a promotion to VP?
How great would office emojis be in this app?
Has anyone been fired/terminated for expense related issues or along those lines? Does termination show up on your background check or impact you getting your next job? At a Big 4 firm
Funny OOO from one of my MDs. Love this guy

I’m hearing that a recession is undoubtedly going to happen. Will we be impacted as Consultants and if so, to what extent?
Hi! This is my first post in FishBowl. I'm a solopreneur new in business consulting. This first year have been really good at client adquisition and total income. However I've worked harder and more hours than i expected/wanted. Any advice for a new solopreneur consultant?

When y’all flying back this week?
I am noticing that McKinsey is increasingly recruiting at non-elite schools (very roughly speaking not top 15 schools). At my old undergrad, 5 years ago the most competitive firm to show up was EY. This year McKinsey took 4 non-internship full hires. Why is McKinsey going “down market” for recruiting? Are elite school kids losing interest in consulting so McK has to cast a wider net? Or is McK seeking a wider pool for other reasons? I advise undergrads on consulting so want to be best informed.
