I’m sorry this is happening. I’ve been there and now how much is sucks. I’d recommend finding coworkers you trust and making them aware of the situation. But ultimately the best solution is to leave and go somewhere where you’ll be respected and valued
And I disagree about not telling HR. That’s how abusive bosses stay abusive
You have no obligation to make them a better company. There are many instances where HR was given notice of abusive bosses well in advance and they do nothing, or lack the power to change anything. As harsh as it may sound, remember that despite the name “Human Resources” at the end of the day they are there for the company, not for you. Leave or ask if you can report to someone else.
I plan on leaving my company exactly because of this BS. It’s a shame.
@Copy1 has it right. Get the hell out. And don’t unburden your soul to HR when you have your exit interview, just walk out with dignity and respect.
So happy to hear you won’t put up with it. I put up with it for too long and regret it.
Probably time to job hunt, unless your agency is big enough to move you to another group. A boss like that isn’t about to change.
Can you sit down with that boss and have a candid conversation about it? If they already treat you like shit, maybe you have nothing to lose? But definitely look into leaving
