Bain & Company Got an application stage rejection yet again from Bain & Company for an AC role as an experienced hire (7months of work ex). This was after prepping up my resume for weeks and being told by some associates that it looked good. I can't even begin to land an interview it seems lol. I really don't know what to do differently now :/

Had my partner interview 2 weeks ago & I think it went pretty well. Been radio silence since then. Emailed the recruiter twice (once each week) but did not hear back.
Just wondering if this is normal? Should I wait & hope or just move on to looking for other roles. Thanks.
Do you want to be paid less? I think the answer is pretty obvious.
Read what AD1 said.

You could focus on understanding the range for the role and ask them to share. If it’s clear they need you to specify, I would focus on a range that you’d need in order to consider a move, leave current compensation out of the discussion.
Completely agree with this. With regards to what you need to leave, don’t be afraid to ask for what you truly want. Undercutting yourself will just end up wasting everyone’s time.
Given that you would be leaving institutional knowledge and an established network, I would request current (base + bonus) + 20% at minimum.
Hit them with that 3 piece combo 🤜
I don’t know what that is…but it sounds like a skill I need.

Just say a base of 175 to 200 depending on bonus and role and work life balance
What is it that you want?
SN: I personally talk base first because bonuses can be anything on any given year. Companies will sling out 20-25% then it’s a bad year or the group doesn’t ever hit that so you only get 5-6% if that much. Haha, No. Pay me and let the bonuses and the rest be gravy. Bills and expenses have to be taken care of and waiting/hoping for an annual bonus to do it is not it.
Break out your base, add the percentage that you want to make it worth it, and start there.
I would say 200tc if this role is significant better wlb
Do most people include 401k match in TC
Yeah I don’t include it when I’m posting about TC but it’s definitely material in my new job so it was a consideration
Thanks everyone for the advice. I had a call with a recruiter today and stuck to base salary and tacked on 10% to make it worth the transition. I chose 10% because the bonus structure was materially higher. My price was above the top range they offered but they are going back to the hiring manager to see what they can do
160k. Bonus target is 20% and I would definitely leave my role for this job.
