I’m applying for admission by motion in NY and they require all law employment to be affirmed by the employer (basically, they have to fill out a form that says you were employed in a law capacity). This includes all law employment (including unpaid internships, externships, etc.). I’m concerned that I may not be able to get a response from some employers because they have moved or folded. I just made the switch to my new firm about 3 months ago and the partner and I have not gotten along. I’m a second year in lit, and most of his associates are more senior so he expects us to run point but during the interview I told him I still need a little mentoring. Now, every misstep I make he kills me for it. Should I make a move now or wait it out hoping it gets better?

I don’t work THAT much (1800h/year is my target), my weeks are usually 10-11 h m-f.

If you don’t have 8 hours of billable time a day, do you leave as is or do you fill in the gap with non-billable work? While I am in the office, I don’t always get the billable amount since I don’t have enough work. I feel like I lose so much time task-switching and my billable hours also don’t reflect the mental load I carry around thinking about all the moving parts for so many different clients. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Have you found any time entry or organizational tools that have helped you?
