That's not true about being a super high performer - in NL/Ireland for example they have a lot of American companies due to the tax havens there they are always very eager to hire anyone with PCAOB audit experience. You can apply for a local contract (with a local recruiter in NL-Ireland, do not go through your home office) once you have one busy season as a senior.

Hostels in Europe aren't what they used to be. Also go somewhere not on the euro. With the exception of the flight, which others mention you can get cheap ones through a low cost carrier like wow or Norwegian, or even through points... Europe can be quite cheap as long as you're not going to UK/France/Switzerland etc. Even try Spain

I wanted to flag so others can know, I live in mcol and I just received an offer for 120k base and a 15k signing bonus. I have three years of experience. I asked for a signing bonus and a 110k salary. If you are a senior, you should definitely be applying and just see what comes up. Crazy the market for seniors right now
