How to you stay “competitive” physically? I’m 30 and a male. I used to play in sports leagues but after picking up a few injuries the past couple of years and having our first baby I stepped back from it but I miss athletic competitions. Are there any apps where it’s like “run this route the fastest to top the leaderboard” or doing like a weight loss challenge kind of thing?

Strava shows leader board for each segment. Fastest each day overall, overall, gender, age category. I use it for cycling but there is prob same function for running

Honestly nothing like playing sports. I used to do Orange Theory, and there were some days where it was a challenge where they’d time fastest two miles, most meters, etc. If you really want to compete you could start to train for a marathon / iron man

Triathlon is super fun and competitive. You can compete against yourself but still get those nerves / competitive juices reallllly flowing before and during the race. Fun Times

Hello Fb! I'm 30 yrs old. I'm trying to figure out and plan my life to set myself up for success in the future. I wish I had known things like enrolling in a high deductible health plan at 24 when I started work so that I could enroll in a HSA for the triple tax savings or the importance of maxing out a Roth IRA or maxing out a 401K and not just to the employer match. What are some things you wish you had known earlier or by age 30? In some ways, I feel like I'm late in the game. See more 👇🏻

I have a diagnosis for three disabilities and I have been getting treatment for them for a while. I have not disclosed it to HR or anyone outside my family. It's such a huge stigma. Even my own family judges. I can't imagine how hard it would be at the workplace. I applaud those of you who have come forward and talked about it.

I quit drinking at the first of the year because I was drinking too much as a way to cope with Covid. 99.9% of the time, I’m glad I quit drinking. And then there are those nights when I just want a glass of something to take the edge off, which makes me think alcohol was more of a coping mechanism than I thought and it’s probably a good thing I’m not drinking. I don’t even like wine very much, but I miss that low level buzz that makes everything a little less loud.

I’m curious how long people were in the peri menopause phase? I’ve read it’s an average of 4 years but I’m curious what people’s experiences are. I believe I am late stage peri menopausal and my periods have been very irregular for the past 9 months ranging 13-60 days between periods. If anyone has any studies you could point me to, I’d love to see those as well! I’m 40 and my mom entered menopause at 41.

My manager put me on development plan under the HR supervision, he confirmed that it’s not a performance plan but failure in fulfilling development plan can lead to probation/performance plan and my job could be in jeopardy. Despite working hard thru out full planning cycle and getting appreciation all year,
Situation looks pretty uncertain, should I look for another gig? It doesn’t seem right specifically with HR involvement. Please advise.

How to deal with not being staffed on deals and seeing others in your year be staffed? When asking partners directly for work, they refer you to the staffing partners. When asking staffing partners (repeatedly), they say “thanks for interest, we will have something soon.” Weeks and weeks pass by and you’re always below where you should be for billable hours (at this point, very far below). All reviews are essentially perfect and no negative feedback. Extremely frustrating and discouraging.
