I don’t work for a FAANG (not sure I want to) but I do come from a similar background to you.
From what a few of my friends at FAANGs say, a diverse background can be valuable amongst the sea of climbers who are just looking to add the company to their resume and jump ship.
As long as the work exp is legit (strategy, execution, product leadership) you will get interviews. Rest is on your interview performance. You might get low balled because you dont come from FAANG.
In my experience, this is how it goes. You have a chance if you have the knowledge, experience, and skills. Just don't expect them to treat you the same as someone coming from another FAANG.
I don't think it matters as much as you think it does. Like the others said, it's just one part of the overall picture so your experience will end up counting for more. Maybe you won't start as high as you should, but the doors aren't completely closed
