I don’t work for a FAANG (not sure I want to) but I do come from a similar background to you. From what a few of my friends at FAANGs say, a diverse background can be valuable amongst the sea of climbers who are just looking to add the company to their resume and jump ship.

As long as the work exp is legit (strategy, execution, product leadership) you will get interviews. Rest is on your interview performance. You might get low balled because you dont come from FAANG.

In my experience, this is how it goes. You have a chance if you have the knowledge, experience, and skills. Just don't expect them to treat you the same as someone coming from another FAANG.

I don't think it matters as much as you think it does. Like the others said, it's just one part of the overall picture so your experience will end up counting for more. Maybe you won't start as high as you should, but the doors aren't completely closed

Hello All, is any firm open to hiring a senior consultant specializing in Data Analytics and ML. I have 6 years of experience with 3 years in USA in Big 4. I would require a work authorization visa to work in Germany.

So I realized I set my 401k contribution to be at 15%… given I have $140k gross salary. I think I exceeded the limit. I lowered the % now for the next next billing cycle but I’m concerned… what should I do to avoid penalty?

What’s the right level and comp range for biz ops role in FAANG with 3 years at MBB, 2 years in PE, and top undergrad (if that matters?). Got two offers from F/G but tech levels and comp are new to me. Surprised comp is lower than newly minted unicorn (Series C) Offers at F/G ~$140k base, 10% bonus, $60-70k equity vesting 4 years (what level does this convert to?) Offer at unicorn: $160k cash, $250k options 4 year vesting (based on current valuation less strike price... but still paper money)

Hi all - I'm on a £100-110k base + bonus at a tier 2 firm. This is in the region where personal allowance for tax starts eroding away.. Wondering what options I have to make this as tax efficient as possible (legally), considering a salary sacrifice pension and student loan. Also what are you investment recommendations? Stocks and Share ISA? What are the good alternatives?

Serious Question: since my 30’s I’ve become less attracted to men. I’m not attracted to women it’s more like I am noticing I hate most men. I don’t like how much more they get away with, how most of them abuse others sexually when they get to the top of their industries, how they get handed so much more. I am a WOC and I am looking for any advice how to change this attitude? Particularly the racism and misogynistic attitudes I’ve experienced in this industry.. I’m more than disenchanted. Help.

New/pivoting into HR! 👋 Currently working as a TA Coord with a little entry level work in HR Ops prior to this. Is there a SHRM link, reliable test, or method of shadowing the various parts of HR that will provide a sample of the work, thinking, and day to day experience of each group? I didn’t go to school for HR and therefore haven’t had the opportunity to sample HR Ops. vs. TA vs. Comp vs. Benefits vs. Payroll, etc. I know work experience is the best barometer, but what can supplement this?
