WFH sucked here in NYC for most because being cooped up in a $6-8/sqft/month apartment when you have an entire office to go to is a whole lot nicer.
At least that was my experience with it. My wife and I sharing a one bedroom apartment WFH was pretty hell when we’d both have meetings at the same time.
The RTO full time was welcomed here.
ha nice forgot about the housing situation there. My current apt size would be ~4k/mo there. Seems kinda old fashioned even from the corp side to keep everyone there despite the higher costs of everything
I work from the office 5 days most weeks and you get readjusted pretty quickly. I know all my coworkers but I bet if you were new, you would get to know people a lot quicker than WFH. You might also find that while they say you are returning to the office, people occasionally work from home on fridays.
I have been team RTO ever since Covid happened. I’ve been coming to the office since September 2020. I currently work in office 3-5 days a week but I’m hybrid so have the option to WFH when I need/want. I love working from the office but cannot imagine accepting a job for a company that requires full RTO (or full remote). If you’ve been remote for the last several years and go full office it might be a tough transition. I’d consider requesting a hybrid approach before accepting an offer.
Companies are requiring employees to return to the office because a select few are taking naps, watching movies or other non-productive activities; and bragging about it TikTok.
