How will federal contracts be impacted because of COVID? I'm on the beach & slightly nervous.

I would get billable ASAP on a contract that supports WFH. BAH is 100% better than other federal contractors when it comes to letting people go, but this is going to be a long term thing and at the end of the day they have to run a business.

I wasn’t here during the last recession, but it’s important to understand that this is a slightly different situation. MANY federal contractors have the ability to telework, so many federal contracting firms are still bringing in cash flow, pursuing proposals, etc. just at a reduced rate due to those who cannot telework — but not at such a low rate that it can be directly comparable to the rate we would see during a recession.

Is there anyone who had COVID and were able to get back to their normal fitness levels? I wanna stay hopeful that my lungs will be able to handle running just a mile. Its been almost 4 months of training and I still get shortness of breath 😞 I’m curious if anyone’s in a similar situation. Before I had covid, I ran 2-3 miles with no problems.

Since the start of the pandemic, I have been fairly safe and really haven’t gone anywhere (I think I went to TJ Maxx once in a moment of weakness lol). My family on the other hand hasn’t taken any precautions and actually did contract COVID. They keep telling me I’m paranoid and need to start going out but with COVID being worse now than it was back in March, I rather just not. I just want them off my back and wish they would respect my decision to not expose myself like I respected them.

Currently in M&A tax. I do a lot of cross-functional PMO work and I’m looking to leave and get my MBA due to reduced earning potential from COVID & I’ve seen the work Dev. Ops / management does and I’m a lot more interested in that than in tax. 2.5years at uncle D, no CPA(halfway done). Should I finish out the CPA and apply for MBA later? Should I just try and get into dev ops without an mba/CPA? Or is my earning potential a lot less without it?

Any tips for recovering quicker from intense exercise?

Now Covid is done, I'm throwing myself back into sports, with riding and polo over the summer and rugby over the winter. Sadly I've realised I'm older than I used to be and back-to-backing games is beginning to get painful!

Hi all. I am trying to determine if I am being compensated fairly. I am a tax manager (about to start my second year as manager) and have been with EY since staff 1. I was promoted to manager in June 2020 (during covid) and received a 7.5% raise. The class above me has mentioned they received much higher raises during their promotion years. My base salary is now approx. 97K. Any insights would be extremely helpful. Thanks!
