Anybody has had any major client business related fails. For me an interesting one was we questioning CEO why they have not done (a rather obvious) cross sell to which he actually replied ‘we didn’t get around to it, but that feels like a good idea and an opportunity’ it probably costed the firm about 10-20% in profit p.a. for 10 odd years. I was amazed and horrified at the same time that he said it coz I would have been fired for much less
I’m documenting updates my manager provides every week in my PIP document and at the end of the month he says his feedback isn’t captured accurately. What’s the best way to deal with this? Don’t want to get fired and think I’m doing much better than other people in my role
How is EY doing with layoffs etc
Does anyone else think the Delta variant will lead to shutdowns and layoffs again? I want to leave my job but fear being the first to get the chop if March 2020 repeats itself. Should I just jump ship already? If it helps, I’m not in travel PR.
Anyone ever sit back and think about the problem of the commons? There is alot of rhetoric pitting democrats vs republican. Honeslty it seem to be more similar to a game then politics, yet society as a whole seems to be deteriorating. But those elected keep getting rich while others are begging for help, i mean dont get me wrong i get fired today or tomorrow, i may struggle a bit but for the most part will land on my feet..but why has it become so dismissive. I agree and disagree with both sides
Seems to be a lot of advertising folks on here. Are any layoffs happening there? Good friend in media planning. Is that safe right now?
Question for the more seasoned consultants, these layoffs and overall downturn in our industry, is it an annual cycle? Or is this abnormally bad
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
For those who survived layoffs and crises before, what things and actions made a difference? How'd you come out stronger? Did you pivot into something new entirely?
Sorry to hear this, CP+B’ers...have some friends there who are safe for now, is this the last of layoffs there (CO and LA)? http://www.adweek.com/agencyspy/cpb-cuts-3-percent-of-staff-in-boulder-and-l-a-as-part-of-larger-restructuring/143982
For those of you that got coached-out/fired from PA, what was the conversation like leading up to it?
Just got fired. Not surprised and kind of relieved but ego is bruised. Anyone got any stories of when they got fired/laid off and it turned out for the better?
HR set up phone call for tomorrow morning to discuss performance. Layoff / PIP / chance to defend myself? 7 reviews, 4 great ones, 3 have some polar opposite comments. Those instances... (Continued)
Has anyone heard of layoffs happening yet? Not trying to stir the pot, just genuinely want to know
Working at a B4 and trying to get a return offer in a different group from the one I’m interning with. I’ve been networking crazy, but the recruiter says she has to see if my profile matches first. How can I take matters into my own hands to pivot?
When your project sucks but you can’t roll off
Would you move from D to other Big 4 with only 20k raise (115 -> 135k)? Assuming you need to restart GC process from scratch a year after joining
Can anyone give insight to typical hiring process for Microsoft corporate functions, specifically for an HR Program Manager role? Salary ranges would be extremely helpful as well!
Any Facebook recruiters here? I have an interview coming up with them and want to know how you like it.
Has anyone ever rebounded to B4 but completely new role and department? How does it work?
Anyone at SFO right now?
Have a skills based interview for a product analyst role at Accenture tm. Would appreciate any tips on how to prepare! Like is the interview more technical or case study type? Thanks in advance!
A friend is looking to hire for the below internal M&A role in Brooklyn. Feel free to apply / dm if interested https://proudmomentsaba.hiringthing.com/job/202367/integration-manager
Adopt dog or buy from breeder? NYC, in apartment, first time owner but SO wants me to adopt no shop, money isn’t an issue (have setup a little doggy trust fund over past 5 years)
What do folks wear to work in the Big 4, specifically D? I am joining D soon and I was wondering if I need to buy formal wear. Currently at Amazon there’s no dress code so you can wear anything appropriate to work. Of course I am referring to when we all go back to office. Deloitte
Why should you join TCS, You are already working in Deloitte (a Big 4) apart from salary ? Guys, Suggest a good answer😅
If I wanted to begin the MBA prep/application process now, would I be looking at the fall 2022 admissions rounds? I assume I’ve missed the boat on the current year? Also has anyone done a gap year/volunteered after securing a slot in an MBA program? Thanks.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but is there a job title/role for internal consultants who work in VCs to improve their startups’ business model/strategy/product/operations/marketing?
After having a pandemic baby, grinding non stop for the last year and dealing with massive understaffing cause everyone is finding new jobs - i’m done. Anyone have success talking a leave of absence at their agency and then rolling into contract/freelance work?
Morning 🐟 Has anyone here gone on an all inclusive vacation using Costco Vacations? Would love to know how it went for you? Thinking of going to Cabo over the holidays in December.
