Staring longing at my “stuff to do during the apocalypse” list while my two small children demolish my house brick by brick. I mean, quality family time, of course!!

Will be hitting the treadmill every morning during what would be my normal commute. Also plan on cleaning and cooking before my wife gets home since her office is still open.

I’ve already read two books! 📚

like

Haha maybe both. We got the WFH mandate on Thursday. Granted 1 of my books was under 100 pages and I do read very quickly. In between meetings I’d just down a chapter or two.

Read more books! I don’t process information well enough so I’ll be intentional about it every morning and maybe before bedtime. And maybe do some personal projects if I feel inspired!

I can’t get over that you said “intentional”. Is that more self-care type language or like corpo-speak?

I was giving you a hard time but you responded sincerely and now you should know I feel like a jerk! I wish you a great Sunday and week ahead 😄

Question for fishes who love WFH and claim that they get to spend so much more time with friends and family b/c of it: do all your friends and family also WFH and have the same increased availability as you do? For instance, I WFH, but most of my family and friends still have to go to work due to the nature of their professions - so it's not like I can call my doctor friend or my electrical engineer friend and invite them to hang out during the day.

Any recommendations for a hybrid robot vacuum in terms of price-performance Ratio or important buying criteria? WFH makes it necessary and I want to treat myself :). Key information: floor is parquet, so I guess it should have dry/wet/wiping functions, don’t have any pets, thought I want to spend 300€ max. but no clue if investing more is worth it. I work at a pre-ipo tech company and am bored. I work ~2 hours per day. I don’t know what I want to do in the future. I receive great feedback, but am not challenged. It feels hard to get into projects while being remote. What should I do with my time? I’m basically resting and vesting right now. 26 Years old, $130 base + $100k equity.

How can I set the stage this year to negotiate a lower billable hours expectation instead of a raise? As a woman I'm hesitant to be open about my reason: I want more time at home with my kids. I lateraled to this firm a year ago for WLB and they are indeed flexible on WFH which helps. Salary is a bit below average for mid-size firms like mine in my area, and I didn't get a raise or bonus this year because I didn't hit the billable target (1900). Ideally I'd keep my salary but go to 1600 hours.

Hi there ! Needing your experience ! I'm still fully wfh, packed with work and 10 hours call minimum/day, impacting my sleep. In september, I started working out with a trainer once a week, sometimes two if i can. My only social life is about going out for dinner (i try to walk before & after). At home i watch my food (healthy stuff, no snacking, low carbs) but i keep on putting on weight fast. Anyone solved a similar situation ? Eating less is just killing my energy... (and no, not pregnant!)

Might be an unpopular opinion but I’m not terribly thrilled with the new Halo Top ad. I’m all for body acceptance but part of the reason COVID hit the U.S. so hard is because of co-morbidities like obesity. There has to be a line btw “real” bodies and not celebrating a state that causes so many medical issues - Ie overweight without the medical definition of very obese. Ladies, I had a breakthrough with my boyfriend and I am so proud. I have encouraged him to go to therapy for years. He grew up with a father who is emotionally abusive. He felt like he didn’t need to go because he could just “handle it” (part of the toxic culture he was raised in) so I stopped pushing. Yesterday he told me he was going to therapy to try it out, I said okay, and made him a coffee to go. He came home, hugged me, cried, and read me a list of things he was working on. 🥺💛

Zscaler sales position vs EY? I’m a technical guy and I’ve been at EY 2 years and can’t stand that they AGAIN made the mistake to staff me on a non-tech compliance audit rather than a technical or strategy project. I hate it. Recruiter reach out for a technical sales position at zscaler.. would y’all consider? long term what would be the best? figured out I don’t wanna be in a compliance role. but I like leadership (e.g. would love to be a CISO in a manufacturing company-but not a tech co/bank)
