My maternity leave will be over in couple weeks and I will be working from home with our daughter until the end of this year. We’ve decided not to send her to daycare this year due to COVID. Husband will go to work early and come home by lunch time to WFH and help take care of her. I’m having a lot of anxiety thinking how we will manage WFH with 4mo! Please share your experience and advice. We are open to part time nanny but this COVID thing is making us really concerned. Thanks in advance.
How do we advise clients into agile when they are in traditional biz like manufacturing? Especially during covid when ppl are focusing on cutting cost.
COVID-19: Implications for business. https://www.mckinsey.com/business-functions/risk/our-insights/covid-19-implications-for-business This is very good and will be updated regularly
Nobody has said it, and generally people seem to be content, but I feel like my work product is slipping. There’s been a rush of urgent tasks recently where I don’t have much opp to review. Partner doesn’t seem to get upset, and said he recognizes the pressure, but I feel like my mistakes have gone up. In part because of rush, but also feel like covid and WFH have impacted by morale and I just feel exhausted more so than even (even as my billables have declined since slowdown). Anyone else?
How are those over 60 handling covid 19 aspects of being labeled population that should treated differently when coming back (or if allowed to) to work?
Asking for a friend who is a 2L in a New York law school, given the current coronavirus situation, how are firms handling summer internships, if any are hiring?
I just got a new job offer that is a good career pivot towards a specialty I’ve always wanted. The salary is a bit more than what I’m making (but not considerably more). Afraid of making this leap during a global economic downturn. I’m pretty safe in my current role, but I’ve plateaued and and have not loved the work for a while now (even got to switch clients and still not satisfied). Any thoughts on waiting out covid in a safe but loveless role vs venturing out in the WFH unknown?
November elections: You might identify as a conservative and/or abhor the protests and rioting, but with everything else going on (COVID etc), to what extent to you believe that *more* of Trump is the answer?
What happened to contracting coronavirus and then giving it to your loved ones? Did we forget about social distancing?
I work small (tiny) law. I make mid-100s, so not great salary, but my firm is so laid back. If I bill 1000 hours, that's fine (we were a remote firm before COVID made it cool). Compared to all my peers getting crushed under 1800+ billable requirements, I've got severe imposter's syndrome. Did I do something right or have I set myself up for failure by avoiding the pressure cooker? (I was at a firm for 2 years that was 1800+.) Curious as to thoughts/experiences.
Treat company response to the Covid-19 outbreak as a test of company culture. Companies that promote work life balance that are guilting people to come in and sit at a desk may make you think twice.
Ladies! Any therapists/psychologists you’d recommend in NYC? I’m feeling down about career/biological clock/Covid-19 and think I really need to talk to a professional.
After working a more normal schedule during COVID WFH, I cannot understand how I worked 60+ hour weeks for so long. I don’t think I can go back.
I want to quit so bad. I've saved up enough to last me nearly 2 years of living expenses. I planned to quit in April but then COVID hit and I was advised by all my friends not to. Not sure I can take it anymore. It's not even the work environment, it's the work. Idgaf about financial reporting, audit, risk or compliance. I didn't even major in it.
Thanks for the 50th text about a free appetizer during COVID Chili’s 🌶 You’re like the first date that never gives up...
My friend got tested positive for covid. He is not showing any serious symptoms. He caught cold and had mild fever which was not going away so he got it checked and test came +ve. What are precautions, preventative medication he can take. He has to see the docs yet. Lives in rural area where he has to drive 30-45 mins to get to urgent care hospital without appointment. What are his options.
Hello ladies, looking for some feedback on the communication below between this younger guy and I in a LDR. It’s been 3 months that we are together and haven’t met yet b’coz of Covid, been chatting and calling each other as time permits, he is an hour behind my time. Font in grey is him and green is me. Thought I am being funny by sending the last pic but doesn’t appear like he took it that way.
Anyone experience trouble disclosing pregnancy with the partner they work for? When I disclosed I’m expecting my first child the partner quickly informed me of how much of an inconvenience
Good idea to jump ship now ? I’ve been thinking of looking for new jobs but not sure if it’s the smartest move given Covid. Will new companies pay me less and say it’s due to covid? Is it better to sit it out and then move when economy picks up? Currently working in Toronto and interested in Tech and analytics
