This is very state specific.

I calculate the support and if the stipend exceeds it (which it usually does) then I have no additional child support flow to the recipient. It’s just like SS benefits

In NJ adoption subsidies are income. KLG subsidies are not.

Look up the case law in your state. Keywords that may help: Adopt, adoption, “child support”, calculations, calculate

I did this in AZ and our case law considers it income to the children, not the parents, that is split among the parents according to amount of parenting time they have. No idea how KY does it, but if they don't have case law and that suits your needs, feel free to cite my state.

Feeling like my firm has a very outdated parental leave policy (and none of the women partners have children)! What is the parental leave policy at your firm? Please include: (1) size of firm; (2) location of firm (city, state); (3) how many paid weeks off from firm (not state/fed benefits); (4) other policies such as ramp up/down time, etc.

How normal is it to be pulled off a trial team because you tell your boss you are moving after trial? I have a trial coming up first week of Oct. This case has been my baby, and I’m going to try it with my boss. I tell my boss up front that, for family reasons, I’ve gotten a new job and will be moving to another city two weeks after trial will likely end. He then gives my trial witnesses to another attorney, but is still going to make me do grunt work. Is he unreasonable or am I?

Can anyone share their experience with having a child with a congestive heart failure? My child is having trouble gaining weight as a result (1lb a month at most) She's five months old and has a large ASD and smaller VSD. We are being monitored by a ped cardio. She'll need surgery in the future but they aren't sure when as she's fine overall. Can any of you share how u helped your child thru this? How did surgery go etc? I'm just so stressed and terrified about it all.

What are our thoughts about physically fighting a belligerent woman as a man? Genuinely curious, I'm a Male and had a woman get physically aggressive with me yesterday and I could tell she was about to throw hands. Luckily the situation was de-escalated. My personal opinion used to be never put my hands on a woman unless my child or family is in danger or if she had a weapon But now Idk anymore
