Copy the partners on your follow up emails
the partners i work for have specifically noted petulant junior behavior like this as a severe negative. do NOT do this. it’s catty and rude.
You may be confusing "disappearing" with "lack of respect." It's not uncommon for senior asses to just ignore junior associates' questions. It's a little like how paralegals and support staff ignore all associates but will bend over backwards for partners. I think you should work on building a relationship with the senior and see how that goes. You're in an impossible situation because either (1) the partners will talk to them and you'll end up with an angry senior or (2) the partner won't give two $hits and you'll still have an angry senior.
Have you tried calling them? Admittedly, I get several emails a day from juniors, many of which I don’t think are particularly urgent. It may take me several hours or a day to respond. I always return calls immediately though.
Wow i go through EXACTLY this! Following for advice
I assume these are your seniors and they supervise you?
Yeah I’d try first to make an effort at being friendly to them, they might just be slammed (and many seniors I know purposefully set their Skype to away all day to avoid getting pinged constantly). I’d try to set up a time to talk on the phone or just give them a call
