How would you react if your boss told you, you were promoted (got the band level/title increase) but the comp increase was only 5%?

10-15% at least, if they shorted you on the first one I would say 15%

Haha this sounds like BAH.

💯

Internal comp increase is usually 5-8% depending on role/promo. In a normal economy (not pandemic) I would get another offer and use that as leverage. 10-15% is an average jump to another company so can probably ask for a match

like

5-8% seems to be a comp increase for a non promo year based on different stats around the FB. Feel like 10-15%+ is more normal for a promo

Put it on my new resume and send it out to everyone letting them know my current employer promoted me so you can see how valuable I am

OP:for 2020 it’s serious.Except 2020 it’s sarcasm

Asking and getting a match is still tricky. Your employer now knows you’re a flight risk and a “greedy” one at that (their opinion).

There is also a chance they will say they can’t match and best of luck in the new role so be prepared for that
.

If you find a comparable company that will pay you more, just go but target a 25% raise.

Is there any indicator how we can know wether we are getting underpaid or overpaid as per industry standard, specially if I am from technical sales background ...
Everytime I get a chance to negotiate on my saary , I just compare from my last drawn nd not from Industry standard, that means if unfortunately I have started small I cannot match others in same time span, irrespective of my performance.
If someone can help me with this ???

Planning to move to industry in bay area. What parts of compensation are negotiable?

Hi all! I work a small tech company and my manager just raised my quota by over 50% with no compensation change or incentive for hitting quota by EOQ. They just recently preached to our team about work life balance, but seemed to have increased workload for all members of the team. Is it worth it to work hard and push for quota or actually focus on WLB to avoid burnout? I’m very early in my career, and trying to figure out this whole corporate thing.

Also, what should I say my salary expectation is? Already making in the range of $85-88k.
