How impactful it’s to be SHRM certified?
ooo I did this! i transferred internally at my company - networked with the L&D team and my story was along the lines of “Being really passionate about TA and the folks we bring in, and also curious about how they can continue to be successful while at our company and L&D helps our employees” Our L&D worked on corporate onboarding so I transitioned there first and it was a really seamless transition since I did TA and was able to offer understanding of how we hire and the process before they get to day one. Eventually I found some small instructional design projects to help with and took opportunities to facilitate.
this is amazing advice. unfortunately my company is small and we don’t have a L&D team. but thank you so much!
Speak to people on learning first to figure what they and where you’d fit. Ta and td work closely so should be a sensible move.
I would look for experience, even small experience, in learning and development so you can have a chance to highlight how well you would fit the role.
Get some learning and development related certifications and connect with people on LinkedIn. Build a strong network.

Have you done anything like interview training for managers, onboading or an internship program. Id really try to highlight any exp like that you have. When ur making any kind of career change it really helps to reach out to people directly and explain your goals/exp someone will listen. Best of luck its totally doable!!
