How’d you all manage during notice period? Do people in your teams who are leaving still slog it out? What’s the norm. Moving to a corp role soon. Tired of this consulting grind.

Roll off any intense projects, why are you killing yourself during your notice?

like

Just say “need to find someone to handover too”, arrive at 9, leave at 5. What are they going to do, fire you?

like

Check out during your notice, work the bare minimum.

There’s no prizes for a hero and you’ll regret it in your new job if you arrive tired.

People who valued you, would not begrudge you winding down and the people who get pissed off are not people who would look out for you if you didn’t. I’ve done and seen / managed people who’ve done both, it’s the optimal route.

For those who have successfully made a career pivot into a new field, is it recommended to apply for the equivalent title in the new field (i.e. Senior to Senior) or is it more effective to apply for a title that is a step back from your current role (i.e. Senior to Junior)? I’ve heard arguments supporting either strategy but am interested in hearing about the personal successes that people have had.

Hi,
I have received an offer from a Big4.
In my resume I have mentioned my last role with EY (Senior) and true total tenure with EY (2018-2021) and have mentioned my promotion dates in bullet points but I have not mentioned that I started as an analyst (assuming it was self explanatory). What do I do now ?
The title goes as EY- Senior - (2018-2021) and the first bullet point mentions the date of promotions.
Am I in trouble ?

Hey all, I'm a Manager in BC currently at low 60s.
Been getting approaches from KPMG and Deloitte.

Option 1: KPMG setting up a new team. Offering M starting low 70s. SM low 80s?

Option 2: Deloitte has an established team albeit pretty siloed with their sub offerings within the larger service offering. They offer more for a tenured manager I guess c.mid 70s starting

Option 3: Stay back at EY, look to make SM in Oct 2023. Take the hike/correction this yr. Been wth the firm 5 yrs

Thoughts pls?
