How’s freelance life as a director level strategist (brand and social-specific strategy) in non-LA, SF, or NYC markets these days? Feast or famine?

Can't decide if it's best to move to a less stressful job or not. Some days I love it, and am up for early promotion, other days I'm inconsolably sad and can't think of anything but applying elsewhere

Anyone else experience something similar? My SO, friends, and family, who aren’t attorneys, all think that I should be working for some big firm or corporation making tons of money and working 9-5. But when I tell them that my dream is to run my own shop and take interesting cases and help friends develop their businesses, they look at me and say “ok? So go do that then.” I’m like yes, I am. My current firm is very small and allows me that experience and connections and opportunity. (Cont.)

Life is crazy, we went from $92K (household) total income with $107K in debt in 2016 to $400K household with 0 debt, and $570K Net worth in 2021 (including 2 mortgages). Crazy, but super grateful. And yes, we are way happier and healthier. Personally, I am also realizing I am more gentle and kinder to others as well. I used to be on edge and pissed, now I eat ice cream and wish people the best in life.
