The work itself is truly not challenging and (imo) just as lacking in its impact. All of our work papers roll forward from PY and if you’re lucky there might be a control change or deficiency which requires some further probing. Other than that it’s rinse, wash, repeat. Especially in the grunt work, it’s difficult to see how this plays into the bigger picture of your client needs (whom often confront you with same skepticism ie “why are we doing this again?”). Yea they have some nice incentives in PA - happy hours, exercise classes etc - but you’re there for the work right? Exit opps aren’t too glamorous either: Internal Audit, Risk anything. If you want to take a passive interest in your career and see some interesting/marquis clients while navigating B4 complexities and reaping non-financial benefits, this is your group.
