leo and cossette (agency of the year in ‘16 and ‘17) are the best shops in toronto. rethink, zulu alpha kilo, fcb and anomaly (admitting bias) are top quality.
with taxi, they lost telus (telecom blue chip) a few years back, let go 70 or so people and haven’t come back since.

I’ve worked in both TO and NYC. Different beasts. Toronto has great industry culture. But it runs differently. You have to be scrappier and take more personal responsibility to get things done. There are a decent amount of shops doing decent work. There’s less money. Which is the norm so agencies and partners are very smart at making it work. Means you also make less money. Considerably less. But cost of living is also much lower. You can cut your expenses in half. Sorry PMs but that’s not really a job in Canada. That work gets split up mostly to accounts and a little to producers. As a city it’s a lot like Chicago
I saw Leo Burnett Toronto on award shows each year (like a girl, to cook this page). Wondering this too.
That's very helpful

I did some work at LB in Toronto. Cool crew but all are gone. Their clients were Tim Horton, maple syrup, moose and beavers.
