F, just got rolled off & having a hard time feeling like it’s not bc I challenged M Mgr. Have seen him disrespect F Mgr in front of the team and make her visibly upset. Feels sexist. First proj @ D. ☹️
What are examples of good "certs" or trainings to acquire while on the bench for non-tech consultants?
On the bench and bored out of my mind!!!
When all your associates have rolled off and you have to address the review comments left by yourself... 😳
What a time to be on the bench
It’s been week I joined @deloitte USDC Gilbert(analytic and cognitive ) , as solution specialist I am on bench .. any suggestion you guys can give me in getting projects ? #deloitte
what's the firm policy for expensing health related purchases? I'm soon going to buy a bench, couple of free weights and a Fitbit. can this be expensed to the firm? if yes, how? Thanks for the help!
Is there any Bench period in Deloitte?
How to best utilize your time when you’re on the bench? I have started some online learning, getting ready for CFA, exercising, cooking, reading books, but I still feel that I have plenty of unused time. And the routines are killing me too.
Already on the bench for 7 weeks and nothing on radar until Jan end .... when does the talent or HR meeting invite come?
What do you guys do when you're on "the bench"?
On the bench for the first time in a while. So happy I'm not waking up at 4:40 a.m. Good luck to the rest of you flying out tomorrow! I'm going to sit naked in my bed and build a few decks.
Ok I don’t want to sound hypersensitive, but does anyone else think the phrase “on the bench” is kind of harsh? I’m not even on the bench but I feel slightly uncomfortable saying it
starting week 2 of the bench - love it.
On the bench for the third week, reached out to demand, my coach, RP and my network etc. Decided to catch up on some workout and laundry today. Shall I feel guilty?
I am currently working as Senior Consultant in my current firm and just got an offer from Deloitte UK and Version1 for HCM Cloud practice. Version1 pays more (75k basic + quarterly profit share) and has good employee centric policies where else Deloitte has 60k basic + 5100 in flex benefits and no clarity on bonus. The only reason why I wanted Deloitte was for the exposure but is it really worth it? Considering the work life balance may not be as great here as well. Will appreciate any help
If I book a Marriott hotel with my Chase points (thru Chase portal), do I still get my Platinum benefits (eg free breakfast, points/elite nights, upgrade)? The rates on Chase are much better for me!
Picking a country to live and work in: my spouse is a Mexican citizen (with US green card) who works in Mexico City, and I'm a US citizen. We want to live together, but my spouse has great career opportunities in tech in MC, and finding a job in the US has been hard. I could likely get a job in MC, but I don't speak Spanish and my income would be much lower. How should we handle the decision of who moves where? We are both looking for tech jobs in the bay area, but we haven't had much success.
What do you tell ur team if you have an interview? Do you just block off time on ur calendar? Feel like they would still ping me and put things on.
I came across an internal role at BCG platinion which is in line with my asset and wealth management background. I would really appreciate if someone is willing to discuss and refer me.
Consider a new pandemic, at what % fatality rate do you think vaccines will mandated by law for all citizens? This is not the last pandemic society will face. COVID has a low death rate compared to Ebola for example. What % fatality rate would it take for governments around the world including the US to legally require mandatory vaccinations of all citizens? Would it be 10%? 20? 50%? fatality rate? Or will we never mandate vaccines in lieu of personal freedom?
Wife got an interview at Goldman, and her prescreen is with an automated HR video that asks all the questions. Damn, AI taking over jobs quick! But also helps recruiters to focus on recruiting
Deloitte parents: On maternity leave and can’t stop thinking about how underpaid I am. 1. Did anyone resign while on parental leave and what the penalty was for not returning to the farm after your leave? 2. How did you pounds to leave awesome job hunting?
How does interviewing at other firms work? Do they ask about your previous salary and rating?
The client deleted half of our suggestions, but ended up in a much higher IRR and NPV. Maybe we should have swapped roles…
Okay, a retired couple you've never met comes into your office as a referral with $1M to invest from the sale of a business. What do you do to do make a good presentation? I recently fucked this up.
I have worked at one large(top 10) and now at a smaller(200 employee) firm. I’ve gotten quick promotions at each in Outsourced Accounting to a management level. I’m working on CPA should be done in March. I’m wondering if I could get a job in B4 or if I don’t have the right kind of experience. Any insight?
Alright 🐟 🐠 fam, we’re at the halfway point in the year 📆. Post your miles / status for next year. Me: 55k MQM (didn’t travel much the first three months) but now staffed in SF and based in NYC
Anybody have experience with DoD sales? Would love to hear how you establish and grow your business.
Was looking on vault.com rankings and for work life balance MBB was 10, 13, and 15 with big 4 to be found nowhere in the top 25. I always thought mbb worked worse hours than us big 4 guys?
How do you spread your vacation days out over the course of the year? (Not interested in the gunners or lackies who don’t take any)
Anyone take courses/get a degree from Harvard Extension School? Experience? Was it worth it? Are you also able to build a network? Realize it’s not like an MBA, but that doesn’t fit my life now .
