Considering a move from a larger BigLaw firm to Fox Rothschild, primarily to work on matters I’m more interested in, but hopefully to also have a slightly better work life balance. I know it would be a pay cut though, and their various covid cuts have me concerned as well.

Any insight from current or former associates? What is firm culture like? Is work life balance decent enough to justify a lower salary?

Looking to get out of public accounting and applied for a Staff Accountant position. The company is known for having a great culture and I’m thinking the schedule will be much better. I’m thinking the compensation will be similar in the new position as what I’m making now so I wouldn’t be getting the normal jump in pay people expect when leaving public accounting. Can't decide because I want the ability to pump while bending (Willow) but I want the silence and light weight (Elvie).

I'm currently a 42:3-42:7 on the Spectra settings for pumping, let down is 70:3. Is that more similar to the Willow or the Elvie's suction?

Not an overproducer, generally an ounce per hour with a 4-5 hour leak limit. Save in bottles for next day and occasionally store a few ounces in freezer. Already have rectangular freezer bags I prefer.

What should I do to be promoted? The senior managers and managers that I work with said I was ready for manager but none of the partners supported me in CRT for promotion. I feel crushed and demotivated.

If you’re doing a cold reach out - do you immediately attach your resume as a junior person? I never do, but I know some people advocate for that. Also, I always feel weird to ask people for referrals during these cold reach outs. How do you do it?

i work for one of the banks where they dont give annual raises (i.e only performance based). i understand from my lawyer partner that all law firms (at least bay st) give annual raises based purely on tenure/seniority. im just wondering if consulting firms do annual raises like law firms?
