I have offers from Broadcom and SSIR . Salary of Broadcom is higher than SSIR but mostly dependant on Rsu. Any idea about wlb and quality of work in both companies? YOE: 3.5 with M.tech from tier 1 college. Working in hardware domain. @Broadcom @Samsung @Nvidia @Qualcomm @AMD @Intel Corporation

personally i would say work life balance is pretty okay, occasional OT is expected.

Which industry and it depends where you’re coming from. From another asian country, don’t think it’ll vary a lot. Coming from Europe, then it could get a bit overwhelming at first.
Depends on the industry. Weekend work is mostly true for finance and big 4. Unheard of in tech and very very rare in consulting (atleast MBB)
I don’t know how it works for interns but from what I sense the interns generally are on the beach or helping with some write ups. The more demanding projects are staffed by the consultants.
Again in the 3-4 years my partner has been with MBB the only time I’ve not seen weekend work was an implementation piece. Rest of it, there’s always some work to be done.
Also longest I’ve seen was a 100 hour week (this was the exception of course but still that it happened).
Now if one is in MBB but not the consulting track but the R&I track then yah what you say is true. No weekend work etc but as generalists/integrative it’s unlikely.
As I type this I just saw a friend’s IG story who’s in MBB on a flight to a client overseas and having to fix up some work.
to be very objective most companies do offer good WLB but it varies on your direct boss and team, the projects currently running and timelines.
