Hi everyone! having tackled virtual onboarding personally I wanted to write about my experience to help new starters and managers go through the process. I also spoke to two friends (one starting at Deloitte and the other at an early stage startup). Hope it helps you all! hipr.pl/37DgkAm

are you in public or private accounting? I was in Big 4 for 4.5 years but am now in private. today is day 2! not much going on yet. they are preparing for a Board meeting on the 13th and said after that they will be able to really start teaching me everything. I say just make sure they know you’re free to do stuff that way they can tell you to sit tight and they know you are eager to work
I’m in public now but leaving to private this month :) I’m kind of nervous and don’t wanna disappoint anyone. I hope my team will be as nice as yours!
My experience has been meh. I moved from Big4 to industry. Everyone has been very nice and helpful, but the new company’s remote technology and remote on boarding processes are way behind the Big4. Every process assumed you were in the office, even though this company has been remote for all corporate employees for 8 months now. So, I’ve spent most of my time on the phone with IT instead of getting started with my actual job.
