I’m in NYC and still do fun things on the weekend - parks, outdoor dining, etc. Took the ferry from 34th to dumbo and walked around there for an afternoon, spend a few hours biking Central Park....there’s plenty to do, i think you’re just using covid as an excuse to not do it lol

EY1, people who are used to doing non-athletic things on weekends miss their concerts, theater performances, exhibits, art fairs, book readings, and many other things that existed pre-COVID and are not returning any time soon. Biking in Central Park and running is just so...pointless.
Never really had weekend plans pre-covid. Now I don’t get fomo, so that’s kinda nice
Same :)

MC11, I am a woman but we can be besties if you like.
My fun Friday’s now are grocery shopping.... I miss being drunk at a crowded bar in a big city on a weekend 😭

PwC1, I ordered 3 bottles of wine and one side of chips. Nobody looked at me twice.

What do people who make plans do? Like, other than drinking and eating, where else do people go?
Weekends away in the woods or mountains with friends is another I’ve seen.

Escaping a lot to upstate NY via random Airbnb rentals, going to Poconos this weekend. Treating these like mini “travel” so there’s just something to look forward to with my SO. If I’m not going away, I am HAPPILY staying home and catching up on sleep
During a pandemic? Should there be pressure to be socializing on weekends?
KPMG1 I would only argue that the original post says they feel “lame” as if it was a coolness factor and not the actual need to be interacting.
In NYC and pretty much always have weekend plans, even if not with friends. Many many great socially distanced outdoor spots, Central Park and citibikes, walking around the city, some shopping, if that’s your thing, going an hour or two away for some quieter nature time!
Count me in for making plans 🙋🏼♀️ checked out Oktoberfest yesterday for the sunset at Watermark Bar with a few friends and have other outdoor activities in my queue to stay entertained. NYC is amazing at reinventing itself - outdoor comedy shows, speed dating, jazz at the Highline, etc.
It was fun to be in the company of friends with the beautiful backdrop of the east river, boats going by, and the Brooklyn Bridge. Didn’t book a table and just showed up (although fairly early (~5:30PM)). Tables were far apart enough and waiters wore face masks. I felt safe. There’s a 2-hr limit on the tables.
I get drunk by myself and play video games

Pretty non existent. I’m still really risk-averse when it comes to the virus so not meeting up with anyone except my SO. Even though transmission is low, I would rather not take any chances.
sometimes the best plans are no plans
Why do you feel lame? It's a pandemic. Stay home is the new norm! I love it
I’m just watching football all day today so that’s not bad
