I have an offer in hand and another company is about to make me an offer. I'm not so firm on my expected CTC - usually if I like the company I will compromise reasonably. I feel that HRs deliberately delay the communication after they ask me expected CTC - expecting me to follow up with them. So I don't follow up with them until they call back.
