I don’t understand, shouldn’t OP revisit the topic to at least confirm the fact that they’re ok with the originally-presented salary range? If not this whole process can be a colossal waste of time

I agree. I think it’s absolutely worth it to clarify your salary expectations have not changed so you don’t waste any time.

Consider the first discussion water under the bridge. They tried to low ball you and you did not fall for it. Consider yourself a great negotiator! Good luck with the interview.

product team. Do I go for it or bring it up like what happened to my salary ask being ridiculously out of range?

You got the upper hand. Just keep it professional and have the conversation. I won't ask about the money anymore, you already have laid out your expectations. Wait until the offer

I would at least go through with the interview. It’s much easier to prove you’re worth your salary ask if someone with hiring authority likes you as a candidate. If they’re not interested the salary is irrelevant. If you get a callback your salary ask has some merit—even though the salary you’re asking for may be out of the band for the role you’re interviewing for.

These salaries numbers are “inflated” if you’re only looking at SF/Silicon valley employees. If you’re looking for a role in other cities these numbers, while reasonable for the industry, may be way off base for other locations. But also if you’re (generally speaking) asking for an amount that’s just so far off base then taking the interview won’t matter. The salary can be high for a particular company, but it shouldn’t be outlandish for your role/experience/skill set.

I would definitely bring it up and ensure that the salary is within the range. no point in going through the process and end up with the same result.. unless it's an opportunity for net practice

Lmao did they actually use the word ridiculous?

Definitely heard this response a number of times. IMO YOE is not a great way of measuring someone’s capabilities.

Definitely worth it. This happened to me at a company and voila they had more money second go round

What is the typical base salary range for SAP Manager with 15+ years exp (logistics supply chain MM SD) and SM at EY and PWC. At Deloitte I have seen M from 135 to 180 and SM at 160 to 230.

I’m a tech consultant working in the SAP practice. I’m a second year associate. I have decided that I don’t like the culture of consulting - work more hours, always add more work and responsibility to your plate, etc. I would like to work a job that is more 9-5 that doesn’t expect you to work in so many different things at once. What industry roles should I be applying to? Is leaving after 1.5 years too soon?

I have been unhappy about my current job for a bit now, been at the company for almost 10 years, and have started looking for a new job. I have a solid job offer on the table, but a newer PE group just reached out and are looking for a high level either VP or Director of retail sales (my specialty). I am more interested in this private equity group as I would get to build a whole team and really make a retail strategy but they are newer so I am unsure the stability.
